Yeah. There are too many altcoins right now in the market and almost majority of the altcoins are either scam or has very poor quality or project underlying the asset. And besides I certainly bet that majority of the altcoins will be gone in a year or two

In terms of popularity, definitely this will be its future. What makes it not good is that most of the newly coins doesn't seem so much effective in terms of its value. Well, it is being said that cryptos are unpredictable so lets just be positive on this side.

While there are a lot of shit coins out there, it does not mean that there is not space for hundreds if not thousands of coins/tokens as long as they solve a problem. Just think about how many fiat currencies exist now. So when deciding what coin/token to invest you really need to ask yourself, does this coin/token solve a problem?

The fact that some projects copy Ethereum's idea is not something bad in itself.  Monopoly kills innovation.  There's need for competitors to ramp up development and innovation.  Sure,  there are many shitcoins,  but we just need to find and avoid them.

The fact that some projects copy Ethereum's idea is not something bad in itself.  Monopoly kills innovation.  There's need for competitors to ramp up development and innovation.  Sure,  there are many shitcoins,  but we just need to find and avoid them.

This is inevitable. Some interlinked projects will have different results under different teams' operation. We need to find them by ourselves.

ETH is indeed a coin that has more promising potential than other altcoins. With the quality that has been owned by ethereum this makes the future altcoins become brighter. Altcoins has a lot of support to keep improving its quality and value, thus further strengthening altcoins' defense to continue to live and produce. By having 10 ethereum, it will be much better than having 2000+ other coins that are not yet clear of its quality. With 10 ethereum alone you can earn an abundant profit when the price of ethereum soars.

I agree, 2000+ alts is a very large number. But no one can determine how many altcoins should be. Only the market can clear from useless coins. We can already see it - hundreds of altcoins are not needed by anyone. No one sells or buys them

We definitely don't need over 1000 alts for real use, even half a dozen seems to be six too many. Only one should prevail. On the other hand, this multitude of coins is there for another purpose. So many coins exist today not for anything real and useful but rather to satisfy the needs of human beings in greed and thrill. They are created entirely for speculation purposes aka pump and dump. With the speculation said to be on the wane presently, we should expect the number of altcoins to diminish drastically in the near term. Having endured massive losses during the last downfall of the cryptocurrencies, people have become more particular and choosy about pouring their money into shady wildcat ventures and outright scam schemes.
