Of course, it is important to have a good working product or app, because the investor can see that this startup have an experience and enough skills to make this product better.

Having a good working product is definitely important, for one it brings more trust towards the project itself. Members will feel more comfortable with investing in a project that has an physical product. If a working product is not available, then a prototype or a demo is needed that will show how the actual product will work.

Of course it's very important for an ICO. For me I always looking for an ICO which contains some specific requirements, one of them is ICO should have at least Alpha or Demo version of product before ICO starting.
Actually, I think most of ICOs out there just talk about their concepts without any product developments, if they really want to make their ICO seriously, they will not be that hurry, they should work on product first.

Definitely number 1 thing. If they do not have working app, you are gambling with possibility they will never figure out how to make it happen.

But there were projects who didnt have working product and yet they manged to figure it out once they got funding.... but that I would say is purely coincidental. So yes working product at least MVP is a must. My research on 120 ICOs showed that only 22 out of 120 projects had a minimum viable product in place when they launched their ICO. Quite alarming don;t you think? In a real world they could forget about any type of funding.... maybe  feasibility study grant from the government up to 50,000 USD, but that would be it. And yet they raise millions of dollars.

I agree that production is of great importance. But there are a lot of scams in the ICO market. Therefore, I focus on who is presenting this project. Product in a certain project is very important because it can add the eagerness of the customer to patronize the product so it can the easyness of a certain project to succed fastly and finished within target period.

Yes product is important. If there is no product then they are just selling dreams. An ICO that has already a working product has an advantage over others that has not. But the success of the project depends on the team how they will manage and develop further their product.
