For me it does mean,  the team is interested in their product and there is a great chance that will bring the development to the end and the investments are going to pay off.

Of course it is.,. What is the value of a coin apart from speculation if it has no product. This is one of the primary reasons most icos fail. They will promise the world but give you absolutely nothing in return(money grabbers)
When the tokens have some product/service to offer they will 9 out of ten times perform better than those that don't and will have a higher chance of surviving the altcoin purge whenever it does happen.

I would not invest in a company that does not have a product.  This is very risky.  And I do not trust such a company.

Absolutely yes,  the good product is the main reason why people interested to buy  and invest their money in that project platform. They trust that project, because for them that project platform is legit. Not a scammed... Because they see the evidence which is the product of that project platform.
