It is only bullishit for the people who did not get a good value out of it .
There are many users and holders including me who have got profit upto 100x and more . The secret is in studying the coin correctly before stepping into it and investing or buying it . I have got some huge benefits out of coins like paypie and salt.

When someone is saying that hodling is bullshit, it means they are unfortunately hodling shit coins. Do your research before deciding to dive in into some coins. The prospect of the technology, the team, etc. Buying whatever coins you see and then hodling it will eventually lose your money

I think you need to learn more about projects you want to invest. Your coins is real bullshit. You can't just buy some coins and sell them after 2-3 years with 100x profit. You need always read new information about teams, situation in world and etc. And if you don't hear any good news about the project-sell the coin.
Also you need to invest in more than 3 coins.

Reasonable hodl is a very good thing if you're talking about a promising cryptocurrency. But in some cases, in my opinion, this rule does not work:         
 a) if it is a cryptocurrency SCAM and this coin is almost nowhere to be traded             
 b) if a long fall in prices is expected, what we see now in the cryptocurrency market

This is because you are holding the wrong type of coins. Imagine if you would have only been holding btc or eth for all these years what kind of gains you would have made. If you are not good at choosing fundamentally solid projects then better stick to holding bitcoin.

If you are holding those coins, don't have any vision to make future great development and then don't expect to get a lot in the future. The price will be stable as the result of nothing to be released to the market to attract more buyers.

You got such good returns and profit because you invested in the right coins and most probably you would have done research and analysis about the coins before investing in them. NEO and ETH are two of the most good potential coins that exist and also a great platform for launching of new projects, ICO’s and Dapps. Investing in good coins = good returns. Investing in useless scam coin = loss or zero profit even if you hold those for your life time.

The bullshit is the coin and not holding if you know how to choose best coin so there's a moon because it depends to the coin you are holding if it is bullshit coin or not.
You should be monitoring your token if when it will pump or dump so that you will know when to sell, not just holding for 2-3 years without watching/monitoring your coins.

Holding is not bullshit in this period these Coins might of Pumped atleast few time you could have take your profit in that time . Dont have sentiment on any coin . If your investing on coins set target for sell price . Once hit the price sell and take profit .

The coins you chose to hold matters a lot, don't expect extreme returns while holding coins with low growth potential, if they cant grow there will be no returns.  and if holding isn't working for you then its better to sell the coins and try others. it only signifies that you probably did not research on your coins. there are lots of coins out there with lots of potential, just do your research well.

Holding is the best thing to do if you are running in lose rather than selling. The reason behind your lose even when you have been holding for quite long is that all the coins you have invested in have no potential at all and seem like fake coins to me which had been built to scam people. If you have the right coins with potential, its better to hold, but if you have such coins, sell as soon as possible and invest in other good coins while the market is still red. Type of coin you have decides whether to hold or sale.

Maybe you held a dead coin for too long. As you know there are thousands of altcoins nowadays, that means there are lots of choices for investors to choose. So, if you have chosen a project that are not competitive enough to meet the expectations of investors it's price will never move because market price depends on market demand.

Holding the coins really depend on WHAT coin you really hold. If its coins that have no development or a strong community then these coins are doomed not to fail but stay in the  purgatory of 500 satoshi and less coins.

At some point you are right. But, I've seen cases that a coin increases its value after a couple of months. I think that holding needs a perfect release so that you can gain the maximum amount of profit. In my theory, the moon only appears in a certain coin once. After that, you will only hold regrets and decreases in its value again and later on you will do panic selling.

The rising phenomenon which we crypto people refer to as “going to moon” can easily happen more than once in crypto currencies if you are holding the right altcoin which have potential, hard working team on it and solves some real world application and is of some utility. Pumps and dumps are part of crypto world. Just hold the right coins and you shall always be in profit.
