But if the price isn't moving during some years isn't it better to admit your mistake in coins' choice, to sell those coins and try others?

Among the 3 coins being mentioned, only HTML do ring a bell in my ears and the other 2 is just new to my ears. Holding would really be bullshit if you do hold up shitcoins.You cant really expect from them this is why even just holding out wont really guarantee you anytime to have a moon after all the years has passed chances of pump is on 50-50.For now it ends up that you are holding a bag of shitcoins, its better to keep em up and make those coins as souvenirs.

You should hold Bitcoin and Etherium, not these BS coins. If you truly believe in the project, you'll hold with believing that someday you'll get rewarded. Like I believe in Nexus (NXS). But even with such coins, I trade from time to time, to increase my coins count. Other altcoins which are not special for you, meant to be traded, fix 2x, then 4x, then 8x for example. Especially now, when bitcoin is not growing, day traders are those who get rewarded, not holders.

Maybe you chose the wrong coin for hold? Analyze the market, there are a lot of coins that have grown many times in a year and less. Just change these coins to others.

If there is no such data or coins, tokens are not supported by their team, they need to be sold and purchased. there are several factors that cause your coin not to give profit or not to the moon. among them your coins are ugly/bad/bulshit coins. You must be careful and more careful in choosing a coin for your investment. pay attention to technology, every event and its management.

Holding or better yet HODLing is not bullshit at all, you might just be holding the wrong coins
You have to make sure that a coin has a clear and bright future and active community and devlopment, then you can be almost 100% sure that "your time" will come.
There are lots of inactive coins/projects, obviously they might get picked up sometime but for that your chances are very low.

Look for new projects that have a good investment potential.

Without trying to shill, my current favorite is DeepOnion, active development, active community and a good use case. Stealth addresses are soon going to be released so even Monero will have no technical advantage over it.
Projects like these can "moon" easily as they only need a bit more exposure/attention and that's it.

As said before inactive and abandoned coins will likely be forgotten forever no matter how long you hold them...

Its always good to know the roadmap of the project you are buying its tokens because it has a huge role to play in either attracting new purchasers or whether people will dump the tokens which leads to drop in price.

Holding coins is a great and safe choice of investment but of course we need to select the best most especially in Altcoins that are not listed on top ten or even twenty on coinmarketcap. If you selected Bitcoin with your investment I think you have huge profit by now. Holding also depends on our coins of choice. If we have coins that lacks potential I don't think they are worth it to hold that is why we should be picky and having due deligence is a must.
