It depends on your style and what is your passion. However if you want the most professional way then thou must go in trading wherein it will take you months to fully understand how it's done professionaly. On the other hand if you don't have enough time then invest instead with top cryptocurrency coin in coinmarketcap or just run a Masternode.

trading altcoin is the best way I have ever done to continue to grow profits. with investment being very difficult and takes a long time to grow our capital. that's also if the market looks good. but in trading, it takes time to study on the market. we just need to try to make it faster.

just like it seems. projects that sell IEOs sometimes also presale or private investors. they made an offer that we did not know how much the price and bonus was given to the initial investor.
maybe the IEO is a new way to increase our money, but I prefer to trade altcoins on the market.

Out of the three options, i guess others will be the likely option for me because investing in ICO to me may not likely increase your alts when it comes to profit making, hodl is not an option for me at this very moment but i guess participating in more bounty campaign is the best way to increase your alts at this period of time.

Before now, growing altcoins were easily done through ICOs. But with time, it later become more of scam and money lost. But in all, trading has stood the test of time. So trading and holding stands to be the best way to grow altcoins

I prefer to trade scalping with a profit of around 1-5% and repeatedly. If the Hold takes a long time and the coins chosen must be really coins that have a good future (the top 10 CMC).

I think holding is definitely the biggest key here, if you do not sell your coins then you can't lose it and if you do not lose it then with time you can get more of it. Now it is not that easy to just hold it forever I know but if the topic is making your coin portfolio larger than no matter what always look at the amount of coins you have and not the amount they worth in dollars.

If you keep your coins and do not sell any then you can move to the second stage which is getting more, you can either buy more if you have the money or you can work for it and earn it if you have some talents. These days you do not need too much talent because there are new coins coming out every day and they are paying you to write here, share on social media and follows and retweets etc etc so you can make money decently without working too much if the coin gets listed on an exchange.

i see that majority of users here on this board are suggesting trade  . that true that trade is one of the best way to grow alts not only alts but also btc and tokens however trading is also the most riskiest among other methods of growing a coin  therfor i will not recomend it to those who are starters or to those who cant afford to loose big like me so i will only choose investing for now  .  staking is also a good way to grow coins with less risk

There are two main ways:
- Investing in altcoins, sell highs, buy lows. This approach will help you to increase your total altcoins
- Investing in bitcoin, buy lows, sell at peaks. then using money from bitcoin to buy altcoins when altcoins dumped. That one will help you to increase your total amount of altcoins, too.

There are a lot of options such as trading, participating on an ICO/IEO, etc. Another good way is doing this new offering that they call an evolved IEO which is a lottery-based system that gives you crazy discounts when you get selected. Nevertheless, everything has a risk and only contribute what you can afford. Another thing is just simply hodling them and wait for significant events in the project's roadmap which may skyrocket the token price.

If you want to increase your amount of altcoin you should doing mining, it give you more altcoin. But if you want to take profit only, just trade or invest on ICO or IEO.
You can hold too if you believe with the project but I think this is risky.
