Hi Guys, here is a Q&A with Blazr and a few members of the UNO community we have taken from IRC. I have formatted the text so it reads better.

Developer Q&A with Blazr and unobtanium channel on freenode. - All questions are from users asking about the coins future and dev plans.

Q: so whats the plan for the coins, if any?

A: coinpayments.net have expressed interest, however cryptsy listing was a requirement, which has recently happened in my absense.

Q:  so if coinpayments pick it upo what does that mean for Uno?

A:  it would be listed for use by them

Dev Comment: i don't hold Uno myself, as to not be responsible for its value. My job is to keep the updates coming, moving and shaking. Value is not a concern of mine.

Q: So but what does that mean for holders of UNO

A: value is in the usefulness, this is not up to me, by design its hard to pump a low value low reward coin. There will only EVER be 250k total Uno Coins.

Q:  so when its mined out... then what? Smiley

A: There are currently 80k blocks of 1 coin per block rewards and 6k ish of 0.5 reward blocks. So the total coins right now is around 86k, with a remaining 164k blocks to mine. Baring in mine that the first 2k blocks were .0001 reward. It should take between 3-4 years to get to the full block capacity of 250k.

Q: so, for the .0001 reward to be mined, the value of the coin will have to be very high, right?

A: again, value is subjective to you. we do not speculate. To me, I simply do notplace value in these bits, that doesn't mean I dont care about them, it means I dont see it as a profit mechanism and thus "how can I use it" - it is realy up to the users and what the users make of it.

My ethos is - this is a good coin, lets get a community around it and decide what its worth, I dont stand to be rich from these coins, but I enjoy the community aspect.

Q: The other day I saw the value go as high as $18 and then crash right down to sub $5 value.. can you explain this?

A: Yeah, it's silly if you think about it rationally, there's no reason for it to be worth so much so quickly, and its also the reason we don't speculate. Code is where it's at, not profit.

Q:  due to  it's rarity, it could well become a "collector's item"?

A: Perhaps!

Q:
can u give me an idea, realistically, over the next 3 months whether you plan to ACTIVELY do anything or approach people about using the coin - thats really one thing we want to know!

A: There will be an updated client with dynamic checkpointing around Jan time. And possibly also coin control, and coinpayments.net should be re-examining after the second exchange lists Uno.
(Coin control lets you choose which address you send from)

Q: The community really just want to know that we can rely on you in whatever capacity we need to in SOME WAY to steer the coin to ensure that when we reach the end of all blocks in UNO, there is still a value. And with no dev, its hard to attribute any real value

A: Yes, absolutely, you can count on technical support for Uno and I will be available in IRC.

Q: can we fix the issue with the config file in the wallet so that it's easier for new users to sync?

A: yes, i can and will create a new installer with the nodes and add new seednodes.

I got all my ASICs doing this puppy for awhile. Not going to stop till I have at least a 100.

Glad to hear the DEV is back and staying on top of things.

http://rav3n.dtdns.net:9655   << mined this pool got no payouts. I think it is broken or corrupt. In less than half the time mining got .3 uno from stratum+tcp:de1.miningpool.co:10701    if the rav3n owner or admin whatever wants to msg do so, but I am pretty sure I mined for that place for half a day for their benefit. All other p2p works etc.

I would advise avoiding rav3n's unobtanium pool. When i first used it, I got fair payouts. Not recently AT ALL.

Out of the blue and several days after mining I started getting payouts from this pool to equal roughly what was missing from that 14 hours<<  edit

So I do not know what was wrong on their end but I did receive the uno, which at first was bedeviling me as to where it was coming from ^^     << edit

If someone is mining this constantly, can you post your nodes?
I have $400 worth sitting on the pool and have NEVER been able
to get the wallet to start downloading the blockchain.

thanks

I think I got given one of these. I had no hope of ever being able to mine it. So I'll keep it as a little rare altcoin momento.

difficulty on any coin responds to hashrate

if less people mine it, then it will drop

the dev can also hardcode changes of course when certain blocks are reached, etc.

Nope. Already had all that. Then I thought maybe that port number is blocked, so I tried one that worked for another coin and still nada. Very strange. I update about 10 different coin wallets a day and this is the only one with issues.

I hadn't been able to get the wallet connected/updated today - it just sat on "No block source available", even with the .conf file from the OP... doctormandrake's suggestion worked for me in the end, though... Cheers!
