Ive been keeping an eye on this, i want to purchase a 5MH unit but until i see proof of a real product/company convinces me they are real. I think ill keep my £400
Heck, if they have stock and prove its all real i may purchase a 25 unit
If they had stock and could prove it was real I'd happily buy 5 Vipers. As it goes, unless we get reassurances and better communication from Alpha-t, I will likely cancel my order before the 30 day refund deadline.

Update -- But are orders closed today or Friday...? Typo?
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Greetings Miners!
Pre Order Closure
Firstly, I would like to personally give a huge thank you to all who have joined us and supported us on this amazing project, whether it be financially or in spirit. We have had a very overwhelming response
on the pre-orders. We are closing on our batch 1 limit, any pending PayPal/Bank Transfers will be given up to 7 working days to complete. If you are still deciding whether you want to order yourself a miner or not, now would be a good time to make your decision. We will be closing our pre-orders end of 7th January 2014 Friday ( UK time ).
Updates
I'm happy to report our engineering team in India (Dexcel Designs) have already started work on our next stage of development. We have multiple teams working in parallel handling multiple aspects of the project for a quick turnaround in development. We are fully confident in our teams, and our results so far have shown significant improvement to our previous results. Our strategy is to take the least risk approach to ASIC development with a shortened development time. The updates we will provide will give a closer look and more transparency into our ASIC development, we hope to give you good news and are confident our minimum estimated hash rates and shipping estimates will be outperformed.
As and when different sub modules of the Viper gets designed and manufactured we will be releasing video and images for the community. This will include the enclosure itself, the standalone features, the Viper boards containing ASIC chips and our own WebGui interface. This will all be demonstrated live before we start the large scale manufacturing process.
08/01/2013 Update: The ASIC design team in India have finalised our die sizes, and we already have good news for you. The 25Mh/s device has been announced it will be in the same smaller sized 1u enclosure as the 5Mh/s device! The render images and information on the 25Mh/s have been updated. The 5 Viper boards will be side by side reaching a total of minimum 25Mh/s hash rate. More detailed information will be provided soon.
Community Forum & Feedback
We want to be part of active discussions with the members of our loyal community. Shortly we will be opening our own public forum on our website. This is where individuals from the Alpha Technology team and Dexcel Designs team will join in the discussions and interact with the community directly. As updates are rolled out, our teams will respond to any technical queries and questions that come up. The forum can also be used just to kickback and discuss your Viper anticipation and anything crypto related!

***BEWARE***
I HOPE YOU ALL REALIZE THIS IS A SCAM. THEIR STOREFRONT FOR EXAMPLE IS PRACTICALLY ABANDONED LOOKING ASIDE FROM THE SIGN. THE PREVIOUS BUSINESS THERE WAS RAN BY A COUPLE OF SCAMMERS BUT IT WAS A DIFFERENT PRODUCT AT THE TIME..
***BEWARE*** [/b][/size] It seems more and more so! I am still waiting for my fefund and honestly, I really don't expect to, as it has been quite some time! And they're not replying! And they're moving to their own moderated forums to shut up people and scam them even easier?

They should create the posibility to order a miner after they have broadcasted that live video. If you pre-order now, you dont have much to do with a broadcast in a couple weeks or months, as it might be hard to get a refund.
I think it still strange that they haven't responsed to the questions and issues stated over here.

This thread might be a little too negative against alpha-t. Due to personal financial problem, yesterday my request to cancel a preorder was approved and it's refunded 100%. got to give credit to alpha-technology.

I've been digging around the OFT website and it seems I was wrong. Non refundable deposits only apply if you buy from a store. under the Distance selling Regulations you are entitled to a full refund up to 7 days after delivery of the product. Deposit or not. From an OFT pdf http://www.oft.gov.uk/shared_oft/business_leaflets/general/oft698.pdf"The DSRs require you to refund any money paid by or on behalf of the consumer in relation to the contract to the person who made the payment. This means the full price of the goods, or deposit or prepayment made, including the cost of delivery." So their T&C's are illegal. Even so, I would not pay with a non reversible system ie BTC or bank transfer use a credit card. Cover your bases. They also have to include the full price, including taxes and shipping costs on their site which they have not done. "3.1 You must give your consumers certain information before they agree to buy from you. We refer to this as pre-contractual information which includes the following. (i) Your identity including sufficient detail for the consumer to be able to identify the business they are dealing with. (ii) A description of the main characteristics of the goods or services you are offering. (iii) The price of the goods or services you are offering, including all taxes. (iv) Details of any delivery costs."

I really can't believe so many people bought into this already. We still not sure if it's legit and people have forked over money. You people have too much money to throw away, either that or more money than brains

There are just too many unanswered questions.
Plus I think they are feeling the pressure, presumably from this forum, and closing their gates with their sudden deadline. I hope for all of you who put down a deposit, that I am wrong. This thing just looks too shady.

You people have too much money to throw away, either that or more money than brains Oh so true, with all the information available from the past 2 years. Look at the HashFast thread with lots of old members. They are rich and easily afford the loss. I still get a chuckle from reading the posts.

So far there is no prof whatsoever that Alpha Tech are scammers. I give the the benefit of the doubt, so far.
I'm worried about the conflicting reports, some say no refunds and no response and some say instant response and refund. However Alpha hasn't shown up around here in the last days.

That means little.
If they really are scammers, they wouldn't stop taking orders now , would they ?
Don't trust random posters so much either. People here have no qualms at all to make others look bad just to profit themselves. Or Alpha is slow in replying in some cases.
Spotty service doesn't make them scammers. We only have partial, unreliable information and no solid evidence for a quality product or a scam.
All we have is speculation. Therefore : we have to wait and see.

I just wanted to share my experience with Alpha-T. I ordered a 5mh viper model on the day pre orders were announced. After reading through here, I decided to cancel my order and get a refund. I emailed them about 3 hours ago. I just got my refund and an email stating that they promise I will be back as a happy customer and explaining that they have a strong relationship w their partners and they are well established.
Take it w a grain of salt, maybe they are the real deal

They must be getting a lot of cancellations maybe?! Their reply to my cancellation was short and sweet with 5 words saying refund completed, nothing else.

What I would like to see to make me feel better about my order is this : a bit more background info on the Akram brothers and father to lend their company some credibility.

I was going to place a large order, and maybe I'll kick myself later for not doing it, but it just didn't jive with me, something didn't fit.
One thing which didn't help, they're ignoring all of their own threads across forums. That's truly odd. Unless they're relying solely on the newsletter pump they've been doing, but still, why ignore forums where you originally were "born" from?

Ah yes, paranoia Maybe they're too busy to search for every mention of their name and reply ? Or maybe they have a policy right now against engaging critics and trolls until they have some positive results to share ? Lack of communication doesn't prove try are scammers. If it does, please explain that reasoning to me.
