Got a reply from the UK Companies House about the registered office address being vacant and being unable to contact them.

"I can confirm that I have written to the company to request the forms AD01 to update the public record without delay.

As we have no response steps will be taken to commence action to remove this company from the Register."

Good work man.

+1

for sure.   they'll have to re-register or they are completely out of business.

this is also important news for people trying to get their money back via the courts, CC or PayPal.

nice.

Got this card in the mail today. If you paid by credit card, and haven't opened a dispute, definitely do it sooner rather than later! It was past the time for me to start the dispute online, but a simple message to them made it happen. I immediately got the temporary credit. Alpha replied to them close to the 45 day mark when it would have been permanent and said it was still within the time frame for them to deliver (a blatant lie). Chase asked me for some documents... I sent the original terms of order, the email from March 19th showing shipping date in July, the one from March 27th removing PayPal as an option, the one from May 21st requesting final payment (which I had no way to complete as PayPal was gone), the email July 28th saying delivery in September, and the one from Sept 27th saying delivery in October. I pointed out that the terms said shipping 8-10 weeks after final payment, which they requested May 21. That would have put the shipping date July 31. I sent this email to Chase October 28th, so way past that.

Good luck!

Nice.  And, yes, this process takes time, nearly 2 months to get this done, so people should get steppin'.

So long as you don't open the box, you can take delivery and then bring it back to the courier unopened and tell them you are refusing delivery. I always thought it had to be done when they were at your door, not the case with couriers in the USA.

I suppose my package will be holding on our Custom, so it will not reach to my door at all and if I receive tracking number I will inform the courier that I am refusing this package to return it to AT (sender). I am not going to pay and one penny anymore for this bullshit ..... but  I am doubting that AT will send anything at all ....

Yea, I'm guessing "what to do when the package arrives", is probably not something any of you will have to worry about.  Just sayin.

Just caught something from looking carefully at Alpha-T announcements.

They claim they each chip runs at 1.5Mh/s with 12 chips per board that's only 18Mh/s. So the 50Mh/s units have 3 boards and the 250Mh/s units will have 14 boards? Something is not adding up here. The Viper case is going to hold 14 boards? Is this correct? From the case dimensions they've given this doesn't seam to make sense. Can someone shed any light on the topic?

That's working out to 135 Watts at 120V per board of 12 chips. Hmm, let me run some more numbers.

EDIT: So that's 1Mh/s running at 11.3 Watts? Math was never my strong suit. Alpha is advertising 7.5 Watts per 1Mh/s. Surprise surprise!

I've been pointing this out for a while. The case has room for 10 PCI-e power connectors on the back.

You're knocking on something I hit on back in June. Presume they're running 7.5 watts per mh, that's 1875 watts total. The photo they've been showing is of a ~19" case @ 4U (7"). This has 10 6xPCIE power ports, each rated at 75 watts. There's nowhere else in their design, or any photos, for any supplemental power. This limits that device to a nominal 750 watts, or, 100mh.

This would mean the photos are of a 50mh unit, AND/OR something in their design isn't right, AND/OR they plan on burning up power ports, AND/OR their chips are the most efficient in the world and run far less than projected. The PCB shown looks to be roughly 15x5", which means that there wouldn't be any room left in the case for more boards once you add heatsinks.

This would mean that physically, the case pictured, can only hold about 120 chips, which according to their projections is 180mh. To reach 250mh, they'd have to overclock by 39% which means an even higher wattage use.

For a 10 board @ 12 chip case to push 250mh, each chip would have to run at 2.1mh. For it to be within allowable CE spec for the 6xPCIE connector, they couldn't be pushing more than 3watts per 1mh. Anyone familiar with KNC's recent fiascos with the 6xPCIE's will know what happens when they're pushed too far.

To give an idea of current real-world at-the-wall ratings reported by folks:

Gridseed GC3355 55nm: 26.9w/mh
KNC Titan 28nm: 5w/mh

AlphaTech's gear would have to be almost twice as efficient as KNC's to meet their "fastest and most efficient" claims, AS WELL as actually shipping the advertised hashrate per box. Not saying it's impossible, but there's a lacking probability.

Yes, we talked about this a while back. Alpha are using 40nm technology so I'd be interested to see their real world power consumption figures. Don't even get me started on stuffing 14 boards into that case. I don't see how they're going to do it and still get heatsinks in. As I pointed out with photos in this post https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=160.0 every other manufacturer has A LOT more space for heatsinks and cooling.  They're going to need the worlds most efficient chips to stick 168 of them into that case without the whole thing going up like a Roman candle.

But we're assuming they're going to ship anything at all, which at this point is highly unlikely so the point is probably moot.

That is correct. The CAD drawings of the case for the 250 MH miner show 15 hashing boards

Quite how they are connecting the boards to 10 power connections isn't clear. However, the boards have 2 power connectors - possibly they are connecting the boards in groups of 3, with the 1st and 3rd connecting to the power ports, and then the middle board connecting to boards 1 & 3.

That would explain why their test board only had 1 PCI-e connector attached. If it's not been used in a miner, and only used for testing, it only needs 1 power port.

Hey Guys,

Some of you may remember me from the litecointalk forum, i was a big supporter of Alpha Technology until the delays happened, now I am on the other side of the fence and i was unfortunate to have ordered the 1 x 250Mhashing device. In a bid to get all my money back I had seen the posts from retro72 on this forum as he was saying PM him for more information, so i pm'd him. He was very determined to help me and to cut the story short said he would help file money claims for me and also get me a UK legal representative (his wife Veronica)  as back-up to get me my money back, he said he had helped many people get their money back through this approach and it would 100% work. I had listened to Retro72 and he said he knew exactly what to do and would do all this for a fee of $500. It has been 2 weeks and I do not get any PM replies or email replies from Retro72, he has scammed me and i would like to ask him why he did this, and to please give my money back (I paid him via BTC). Has anybody else fallen for Retro72? if so what do you advice i do?

The b****rd Retro72 is playing a very clever strategy where he is making use of a anonymous character and bad situation for customers so he makes money from false hopes of me getting my almost $10k in money i paid alpha. I was told the $500 is peanuts compared to what i was guaranteed, so it was very enticing.

I  have been taken for a ride both ways, and it has been very depressing. The email Retro72 told me to privately email, I had googled this email and found he is registered domain on the same email address, and after further digging through many database websites I have found his full private details (i googled map his address), I suggest someone who has money and has also been scammed by Retro72 to take this further, he is not anonymous, Retro i know who you are! and I will get justice. He also has an accomplice named Veronica, who he claims is his wife and is a barrister who deals with the legal aspects so they can guarantee me my money back.

Anyway for anyone who has been also scammed by retro72 here is his details, so you can make your own claims and contact actionfraud, like i have done. If you have been scammed by retro you can ring him directly and confront him!  (i know the number works as i have rang it before).

Just send me $250 in Bitcoin and I will get your money back from retro72 Smiley
Sick thing you got scammed twice, hope you'll at least recoup the $500 and manage to file a claim directly against AT to get the rest back also.
www.fightalpha.net has all the instructions (for free!).

Any random person promising to get you X$, and ALL you have to do is give them Y$ up front is a scam... an OBVIOUS scam.  Even real life lawyers pull this same scam EVERY DAY.  Random internet ppl... ya.. def 100% chance it's a scam.  It's most likely someone else's name and address he gave you, so that if you look it up, you see a real person.

It is definetely his name and address, he did not just provide that email he made a mistake where he forwarded a phoney email email message where apparently the claim was successful for someone he aided. And his 'from' address was that, that email has been used since early 2000's (i googled it) and other aspects e.g. where he's from were similar, he tried hiding his identity and basically got caught from a critical error.

A scammer always gets caught, I have quite a low income and feel really distressed at what has happened. I understand partly is my fault, but everyone on this forum would be positive about his posts and it felt like I was on your side, it is like being betrayed. I feel a person with bad morals such as Retro is always the loser in the end. And i will not stop till i get Justice.

Just an update, no Retro i wil not fall for your blackmails. Just an hour ago he emailed me stating to take down my post and he will give part of my money back.

After doing more digging I have seen he has had few short-term businesses that were failures or scams, so he resorted to online scamming. But this is just an idea.

Also i searched 192.com and it confirms Veronica and Nick live at the same address. Possibly it is a son and mother venture as Veronica is 20years elder. It is strange for a 40year old (Nick) to live on his own with his mother and no other household member. Im guessing he spends his time online scamming people and is a lowlife!! I have children, he does not, maybe if he had a family he would know how difficult it is to support and have some moral compassion.

After doing more digging the above link shows his failed businesses/scams. Please watch out and do not listen to him. Am i the first? Im still waiting for others to state their experience being scammed by Retro.

His email: xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

name and UK address:

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
xxxxxxxxxxxxx

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

On the alpha front, i have found a legal helper on another forum who is advising me for free on how to get my $9k dollars back for my 1 x 250Mhash device, i will let you all know how it progresses.

Ouch, those are some pretty damning allegations. If it's true, and I have no reason to doubt you, then for a jackal to come along to pick the carcass clean after Alpha-T has killed it, is truly disturbing.

This is how you're going to play it Alpha?..........OK

I'll tell you how this all went down and you can make your own minds up.

As everyone knows I have been pretty vocal in my opposition to Alpha. Raj_Kapur on the other hand has been a shill from the start. Read his posts on the litecointalk forum.

This is what he wrote about me https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=2859.msg160161#msg160161
Quote
Okay after reading your post it is clearly evident you are jealous of alpha-t's success, maybe you are Crypto Industries? (they sounded a lot like you), have alpha-t put you out of business? After viewing retro's post history, all he talks about is his jealousy and hatred for alpha-t. I think you should learn how to do business from these guys, IBtimes seem to love them Tongue And their updates are really kickstarter style and very transparent.

I also do not see the point of prior manufacturing experience, KNC had no prior manufacturing or engineering experience, neither does any Bitcoin ASIC company to think off it. Yifu was also very young, and KNC were old IT men. So I know by you saying this point you are just talking out of spite and jealousy towards alpha-t and dexcel.

Question is , who am i?? I am an Indian who loves me some ASIC Cheesy and my hats goes of to alpha and dexcel for their transparency from day 1. Alpha technologies have set a new industry standard from their 30% deposit, detailed regular updates and constant community feedback through their forums, All current and future mining companies should learn from this example.

Also as you can see here he states he didn't buy a device as he couldn't afford one. https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=2859.msg93314#msg93314

Litecoinninja, and mainly Retro. You keep commenting non-stop on this forum negative bs, when you get proven wrong you move onto something else. Okay we understand what your saying... most likely you are competitor's friends, or are indeed the other projects members. It is only 2 PEOPLE, who are constantly posting this stuff.. i am mainly looking at RETRO, he is on this forum and bitcointalk forum, non-stop negativity.

It is clear Retro is part of another competitor's project or something else. Because if he actually cared about what a real scam was, he would be on Jasinlee's forum, who is jasin working with? what is jasin's name? or address? or company name???.. you don't even know the basics on jasinlee besides from a one person team.

That is the truth.

+9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 SO TRUE! (sorry guys been in Goa, holidays with the families.. i didn't buy a device cudnt afford)

So I'm going to let you into the sequence of events over the last couple of weeks leading up to today.

Friday 14th NOV approx 12.20 AM: I receive a call to my home office phone repeating my username over and over in text to phone disguised voice. I hadn't answered the call so it was left as a message

Friday 14th Nov 01.32 AM: I receive another voicemail message saying: "Retro72 you are not anonymous". They then go on to state my full name and address, my wife's name then say " If you do not stop your online harassment we will take action"

I then start to get hang up calls.

Because the phone is an unused line in my office I hardly hear it so I didn't realise these messages were there until a week later. All the calls are being redirected in some way so the numbers are gobbledygook. I have saved the threat to my answerphone and once I figure out how to get a clear recording onto my PC I'll upload it.

I'm not a guy that's easily intimidated but I thought it best I report it to the police. Which I have done. Please contact Surrey police to verify this, the incident number is 4514 0100 237
They said there was not much they could do as there was only one recorded incident. I had deleted the first retro72 call before I listened to the second more threatening call. I was advised not to share this incident with the forum as it would likely confirm to Alpha they had the right target.

Well as of today with these posts Alpha have now committed a criminal offence. My incident has been kicked up to CID and is being investigated as harassment via electronic communications. So well done Alpha you probably couldn't go to prison before, but you can now. Bravo. I have also alerted CID to your asic scam so another pat on the back.

Now to the allegations I scammed Raj_Kapur or anyone else for that matter.

Why would I help an obvious Alpha shill?
Why would I only take money from you and not anyone else?
Can you please show the bitcoin wallet you sent this money to?
Post emails of any communications I had with you?

I have advised many people on this forum and LTCtalk and have not once asked for a penny in fact as many will attest when I was offered a donation I asked it be sent to Sea Sheperd

Hi IAS,

If the letter helps to get your money back and you want to make a small donation, I'd really appreciate it if you would make it to Sea Shepherd at
https://www.seashepherd.org.au/support-us/support-us.html#bitcoin

I wish you the best of luck.

Cheers

R

Great idea!
I will send my letter on the 1st of the month.

Best
IAS

This is probably the most disgusting dick move played by Alpha to date. The police are now all over them and if you hadn't already figured out what a bunch of pathetic scumbags these guys are. Well here's your proof. Please google earth my address. Does it look like the house of a kid that pulls off shitty $500 scams online  Roll Eyes
Yep I've started several businesses and legally dissolved them. No muss no fuss. No scams or frauds, unlike these arseholes. Now I'm a pretty successful freelance Illustrator, my work can be seen at www.nickyjoseph.com I also own and run www.virtuawear.com a digital sportswear illustration business.

WHO ARE YOU RAJ? I'm sure the CID will be requesting all the details from BTCtalk so we'll find out soon enough. If you want to believe an Alpha shill with 2 posts to his name and fifty others on ltctalk pumping up Alpha so be it. There's nothing I can do about that. But Alpha calling my home, leaving threatening messages, posting my contact details online and trying to solicit trolling and threats against me, is pretty fucking low.

I'm pretty fuming and disgusted right now but I'm going to let the police handle this. Ironically I had pretty much decided to leave Alpha alone and concentrate on my dispute with KNC, then I got the threats.  But REST ASSURED ALPHA I will now make it my life's mission to see you dragged before the courts.
