In my opinion this is not a strange situation in crypto, fluctuating prices (sometimes rising and sometimes falling) are normal. Crypto has a characteristic that is a very volatile price so that if you experience this correction it is normal. I'm sure this year is still the altcoin year, especially the top coin like ethereum. You just need to do your research carefully and don't trust ICO listing sites etc. because ratings can be bought.
