I don't think I have seen any crypto coin client so far that doesn't explicitly say it's "experimental software" in the About box. And it's refreshing to see that at least some people (here: GoldCoin devs) are literally experimenting and trying to improve instead of just creating another clone with only some parameters changed. Experiments might end up as a total success or total fail. But regardless of how they turn out, the way along is a bumpy ride. If you can't handle that you simply shouldn't take part.
And especially when it's about some virtual coins I wonder how people can take everything so serious. It's not like your house or car was taken away. Not even any cash was taken from your pocket. You claim you "lost" something but you never really had it.
And even if the devs were completely wrong with their idea behind the 51% attack protection it was still worth the attempt. Guys, you got my full support, just keep up the good work and don't let those ignorant and greedy people distract you. Don't be afraid to try new things, even if it poses risks.

Just deleted the start of my post in favor of simply quoting yours. (I'm a lazy s.o.b.) Could not agree more with what you said. Dreamwatcher runs a solid pool, has from the start. It's a shame vircurpool is shutting down I used to mine there as well. Hopefully this fix will keep the multipools at bay. Interested in seeing how goldcoin plays out in the next few months.

Goldcoin should really make use of its well known name. Advertise the hell out of it.

Just wanted to take a moment and thank all the wonderful community members for their support! I think anyone reading this can help by thinking of various ways they can contribute to the project and then proceed with the ideas that "feel" best to them. In terms of accumulation, slowly build your chest of gold and avoid any attempts to time the rocky markets. One thing is for certain: we are building steam, gaining momentum, and there won't be any stopping us now.
