Can GoldCoin be used to solve the hyperinflation problem with MMORPGs? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sumZLwFXJqEIf rare items can be sold for GLD, then players can have a way to store their in-game earnings without having them being inflated away. And if multiple games support GoldCoin, then a player who wants to move to another game can purchase items there with the GLD that was earned in the previous game, and in this way there can be value saved over from the hundreds or thousands of hours spent killing monsters in the MMO. One way to implement this would be to make an MMO or have an existing one integrate it into the in-game auction house. Another would be to have a site like https://www.playerauctions.com/ support GoldCoin as a payment method. With all the verification needed for USD payments, and micro transactions being unprofitable due to high fees, using GoldCoin for the auctions would seem to be a win-win for everybody involved in the MMO item and gold commerce. Any thoughts on this?  |
