250 MB is too much for the mix of source code, some dependencies and .exe. All of that is not necessary. We need clean goldcoin source only.
Remove subfolders:
BuildDeps RunDeps
from github sources.
We have this: https://github.com/goldcoin/gldcoin/tree/barerepoIs that okay? I think some people might want the dependencies and others not. This way we have both. In that folder configuration files necessary for compiling are missing.

why are there so many orphans with the new wallet and the new wallet is very slow. I think it's a huge step backwards. You've taken a reliable wallet and made it worse. In addition I complained about this within a day after it's release and thus far 'CRICKETS' from the developers. You guys REALLY NEED TO FIX THE WALLET! and don't blame it on the pool - I have over 50 other pools running and none of the wallets have the number of orphans as GLD does.

You get crickets due to your arrogance.
I agree - there is nothing wrong with the wallet. Orphans are built into the new difficulty algorithm called the "Golden River." It is pure genius.
Do your homework Mister "Smarterhash" before ranting about there being issues.
Like others -- I'm seeing no issues on hash-to-coins.com and the difficulty has a mechanism to prevent people from strip mining it -- or applying too much hash at one time -- AKA orphans. Perhaps you are applying hash at the wrong times.

lol orphans built into the system is pure genius? and its based on fluctuating hash rates on top of it? well sry to say but thats kinda the world of hashing and if fluctuating hash rates cause more orphans that is no where near genius that is a problem that needs to be addressed since the majority of scrypt pools are autoswitching this is not just effecting dumpers, cuz i am not one i was mining to hold but now no longer good luck with this one im staying away completely now

Heya Just FYI that we've added GLD to be mined on our multipool: www.xpool.ca and miners have the option to keep their GLD just by entering their GLD address in their user settings. Cheers!

LOL -- this is silly. Obviously people don't read about the different coin difficulty algorithms. They just mine blind.
I selectively mine GLD -- typically when the pool I use is not choosing GLD as their "target." When I use this strategy, GLD pays well, quite well -- with practically no orphans.
If you are going to blindly mine a coin with any multipool switch -- you will always make less. This goes for any coin, not just GLD. You just don't realize it.

Perhaps this is not the best coin for Auto-Switching pools. I believe that was the intent.
Yes. For the most part, auto-switching multi-pools are the antithesis of the collaborative community spirit needed for cryptocurrency survival. Parasitic mining behavior rewards the miner alone, while returning zero benefit to the crypto ecosystem in which it feeds. Goldcoin welcomes, supports, and encourages, responsible mining behavior. This means caring about the condition of each individual network in which you participate and thus affect.

Perhaps the point is to have the multi-pools drop GLD from their switch list.
Once this happens -- then things will even out.
There is opportunity here - but right now you need to monitor the big pools and see when they switch to GLD -- this is when you then should avoid mining it.

Akumaburn is building a new block explorer that when completed will serve as the official Goldcoin (GLD) block explorer. Check it out: http://miningpool.net/explorer/gld/The explorer is still under construction, but your helpful suggestions are always most welcome!

I dunno if C-Cex is even worth it. You can easily buy yourself on it with a BTC or two.
They don't seem to be that trustworthy though, IMO.

This coin does not deserve to be tainted by C-Cex. That place is messed up and is basically an troll house and an ICO pit. I know this as I'm in the troll box on a daily basis. Only ever around 30 people logged in. If you do want to get on there, try and get community votes as you'll end up paying the btc then either pick you at random or screw up the voting winner ( happened on a few occasions ) All this being said, the Trolls in the troll box are first class
