There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Yeah, i was wondering about that too, why would you send 77btc to a faucet site? If you want to gamble, you can use another site that's specially dedicated for gambling, especially if you're good enough to prepare such amount to gamble. And why new account? Maybe you can post the link of your tx? And please don't say it's all on YouTube, the address is far too long to type manually

I get paid on a weekly basis from this website. And when did you transfer money to the deposit? Currently, the blockchain is confirming transactions a bit slower than normal. But for you to claim that this site is a "fraudster" is actually kind of funny... It's probably one of, if not THE, most reputable faucets in the industry.

You're pretty funny for an angry little man.

I recorded a video. You can see everything for yourself    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZO7gLSwGkI

Well, shit. Would you look at that. For the record guys, it wasn't a deposit of 77BTC, it was a withdrawal that FreeBitco.in allegedly paid to this user. The video speaks for itself, and the transaction ID, when checked on the block explorer does not exist. I'm not sure about the validity of the video, but from what I can tell, it checks out.

If this is the case, what gives, wetsuit (admin)? Can you provide us an explanation of whether this is a valid and legitimate accusation?

Based on the information in the video, this happened last month in early March. And if the accuser is posting about it now, then it (a) did not get resolved, or (b) did get resolved and the accuser is making false accusations. Either way, I would love to see what wetsuit has to say in response.

Oh wow, I must apologize for what happened here. Seems like after we upgraded to bitcoin core 0.12, this transaction was created by the client but never broadcast to the network, so our wallet was showing this as sent and the money was removed by the wallet client but it was never actually sent.

Going through the email history, the user sent most emails directly rather than use the contact form. As a result of this his account details could not be viewed which happens when the contact form is used. A couple of emails were sent via the contact form but they were pretty unclear and the person handling support emails did reply back asking for more details and a detailed description of the problem, but no answer was received to these emails.

In any case, this was clearly our fault and a big one at that. I have re-sent the payment manually now (https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC/tx/f0976f0c1f1839bf89a8e20ec36cc1c9b21516d8d611cf33117e6c16bcafe6aa) and have also sent an additional 1 BTC to compensate for the inconvenience this has caused (https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC/tx/265113b993ab5c78c31a1f253db5b341c92a37f1624604cbd4769689cb8198d0).

Again, I am really sorry for what happened. Looking at the transactions in the wallet, only this one seems to have been affected in this way, maybe because the transaction was too big or some other reason. Also I have now added an additional step of all payment transactions being validated by a third party block-explorer after they are sent so that this kind of problem never recurs again.

If my money will come on the wallet, 77 BTC I personally apologize to the entire internet! I will say the kindest words about the site! But until now, the transaction is not known. Support does not answer me. I do not deny that they do not pay! I'm talking about the payment that has not passed

That is not something you can compare with an amount of BTC77. Although I think they solved this problem really nice and compensated for the troubles occurred.

This.

This is what makes FreeBitco.in the best and most reliable faucet around, guys! Kudos to wetsuit for handling this matter promptly after being notified of it.

Ratier, enjoy your new found 77BTC. If I had 77BTC of my money go missing, I would not have been as calm as you, nor would I have waited a month to do something about it lol.

So wetsuit, what happens in instances like this? Is the original 77BTC just lost in Bitcoin space? Did it become permanently orphaned? Is that a cost that you have to eat? Sad

Nah. If tx was never broadcasted the first time around, bitcoins have never left the wallet, so nothing is lost.

Still kudos to wetsuit for paying that extra BTC1 and for not running away with that BTC77  Wink

But can't figure out how could someone accumulate that much. Probably either lucky gambler or just used freebitcoin as an online wallet.

If you watched the video that Ratier posted, you'll see that he actually made deposits into freebitcoin on several occasions. One for 66BTC, and another for 10BTC, iirc. Beats me why anyone would want to deposit that much into the site, but, hey... to each their own!

Maybe he's doing that to buy more tickets, there is a chance that you can win on freebitco.in's weekly lottery jackpot if you have more tickets to buy, and there is also a big chance that you can win high amounts on their Multiply BTC roll game if you have a high-amount bets.

Coins are not lost until they are a part of a confirmed transaction. The issue was that the bitcoin core wallet was just not showing the coins but they appeared after re-adding the private key of the deposit address.

Also I have now added an additional step of all payment transactions being validated by a third party block-explorer after they are sent so that this kind of problem never recurs again.

it happen to me once with 55k satoshi , with an "unknown transaction" , not too long ago, i even post here in the fórum , but one or two days later they paid me . That site is very trustworthy . If your transaction is real they'll pay it

Based on the information in the video, this happened last month in early March. And if the accuser is posting about it now, then it (a) did not get resolved, or (b) did get resolved and the accuser is making false accusations. Either way, I would love to see what wetsuit has to say in response.

If my money will come on the wallet, 77 BTC I personally apologize to the entire internet! I will say the kindest words about the site! But until now, the transaction is not known. Support does not answer me. I do not deny that they do not pay! I'm talking about the payment that has not passed

Sad
