You're not taking into account that that amount would mostly have been wagered anyway and pays the faucet and everything else. To pay for the Lambo it has to be an increase in wagered amount caused by the Lambo contest.... which is, of course, impossible to measure.

Pleasure's ours. We don't have the resources to go all out and find every great story there is out there, and this site was one of the earliest names I'd known about when first getting acquainted with Bitcoin. In my eyes, anyway, that's its own fair share of contribution to Bitcoin awareness. And behind it a small passionate team, which is really all the tiny parcels of what's driving this larger community.

And yes, of course, I forget, without the Lambo even people are already wagering. I suppose it would be interesting to see just how much more tickets in the normal lotto are gained than in usual weeks. My guess is significantly more!

I just spotted the following in TERMS & CONDITIONS for the Golden Ticket contest:

The winner can also opt to receive US$200,000 in lieu of the car, paid in bitcoins using the exchange rate after the lottery drawing has been done.

That's actually a very good thing because not all of us can afford paying the excess shipping costs and any applicable taxes or fees, but $200,000 in BTC wouldn't hurt anyone for sure.

Now I can sleep with a peaceful mind not worrying about all those taxes and stuff.

In this case i will probably prefer to get paid in cold cash rather than a lambo that i cannot drive due to road condition at my country Specially the taxes and custom duties that cost almost the same price of the current market price of each lambo. Not worth it

The import tax is a real bummer even if you won any prize and no one will opt for that option as the tax levied are huge and the maintenance charges and the money you have to spend for insurance is another hurdle, it is better to get a cash prize than opting for other exotic options.

That's probably what 99% of the people will do and not necessarily because they don't have a driving license or because they can't drive the car in their countries. The thing is most people that are using this website are not rich meaning a lambo would not fit them and cash will be much more helpful for them since they could spend it on buying anything they want, including a pretty luxurious car.

Those sites even with 1% edge is still in profit and they also having promotion event, with them 5% less 1% and 0.4% (assume that this 1.4% will not be reused to gamble again) then with the remaining 2.6% there still alot of ready to take out profit & reservation for risk of the edge may drop below 5% sometimes & reservation for a very small portion for payment to "only to get free thing people".

"Too generous" is what cause branding effect to their site that fit their marketing purpose thus gaining users, the more they give..the more they take. This is also a core statement for old users to encourage new people to get in as their referals, you may search around the internet to see how many of those videos trying to get referals without mentioning the "generous program"..none of them lol. And also we can't conclude until at least someone have a chance to look at their balance sheet daily/weekly/monthly lol.

Well, I didn't think about that one, then yeah it will probably take about 6 months to be truthful, I was considering most of the money would probably come from either people betting (which considering the house edge probably would profit you more than actually buying the ticket) or would be direct purchases, I didn't know any other option could be used but yeah the free rolls and referral income would probably be used as well.

I have directly purchased myself (even though a small amount) and that is why I wasn't focusing on other options. In any case 0.5 in less than a week must feel good, I know it won't continue like this forever but I am pretty sure since this money would be money you would already pay for to people instead of everyone this will make it to just one person and you guys probably will be about break even levels (a bit lower a bit higher) when 6 months ends.

@Kakmakr, assuming that the house takes the edge from wagers, then every 0.005 BTC wagered gives the house 0.00025 BTC in earnings (on a 5% Multiply edge). Of course, we'll assume they have to pay ref fees etc etc but I think it's fair to say that Lambo's already paid for itself;)

Holy cow! I would have never thought that I would see the day that Wetsuit would agree to an interview, so get 1 merit point from me for that effort.    I hoped for some more details on how the site is doing and actual statistics on it's active membership, but this is a good start.

I've never thought about it this way, but now it makes perfect sense to me. Indeed the 5% hose edge can be justified, apart from by the hourly faucet giving from $0.002 to $200(about which we all know of course), by this generous referral program. Thus my suggestion of reconsidering it will hardly be accepted, and rightly so. Indeed it's not that simple to suggest an improvement for a perfectly balanced system.

Crypto millionaire would already around here long enough and would already been with the site. A chance for a USD millionaire to appear under your referrals list by now is slim but would be possible anyhow if you convince them enough reasons . Thanks! As far as I know, Pihole doesn't support regex or wildcard whitelisting at the moment so it's easier for me to just put a list of domains in. If it breaks again, I'll figure it out and whitelist whatever new subdomains are added.

It's all still a bit experimental at the moment. We started adding the shorter single match events because that was what people here asked for, but there wasn't really much betting happening. Doing it this way makes a lot of manual work for us so it doesn't really seem worth it. We're looking into available sports betting feeds to see if we could integrate them instead. The PvP betting does seem to be popular with the longer term events so we'll probably add more of those. Just keep checking the page. We are going to make it sortable by category soon so you'll be able to list it by most recently added.

I made a couple of bets as well, but I wouldn't know how it works with payouts until I win/lose them. I managed to get them in at 99% weight... is there an easy way to see the calculations for how the winnings might work out if you win? For example, if you bet, it shows you a rough estimate of how much your prize money will be IF you win?

That isn't really possible because it works on a percentage split of the total prize pool at the end. That prize pool and the proportion of it placed on the winner changes with every new bet placed.

Yeah, I understand it now. Took me some time, but it was worth it. Now I realize that my knowledge of how the site works was lacking in depth. It is a sophisticated and well-balanced system that has been giving many of us a chance of winning $200 every hour, risking absolutely nothing, for years.
