I have been using freebitco.in as my bitcoin wallet where I have been storing my bitcoins since 2017. And now everything has been stolen.

Well, in that case, you cannot blame Freebitco or any other centralzied site for losing your funds. It was only one or two years where freebitco was having some issues with the withdrawals and before that time you had all the time to get your funds out to your personal wallet. You didn't do that, and now you can only regret your laziness. 

On the contrary, of course he can blame freebitco.in or any other site if they don't pay him the funds he has on the site. Not only that, but he can take them to court. It's one thing that there were warning signs and that he could have taken action sooner, or that he shouldn't leave too many funds in centralized entities because “not your keys, not your coins,”  but ultimately he is not to blame for anything.

Well, it will be a lesson for him, albeit a very unpleasant one, if he ends up losing a considerable amount of money because of the freebitcoin scam. After all, as noted above, there was plenty of time to withdraw all funds from this site, because there had been signs for a long time that something was wrong with the site. Of course, the freebitcoin team is primarily to blame, but it was clearly a big mistake on his part to wait until the end, hoping for the best.

I doubt @nexus72 is actually holding his funds on freebitco.in. Where were was he all this time when freebitco.in was facing all of these issues.
Its not as if they have stopped the withdrawals all of a sudden but it was slowly happening over the months.
If he really had funds in his freebitco.in wallet then he should have taken them out a long time ago.

This is insane, or should I say the user was simply insane, I am very surprised to see that even at this stage and how far crypto have come, some persons still treat a centralized service as their personal wallet.

I really don't want to appear or sound insensitive but I honestly will have no atom of sympathy for this user of paraadventure, freebitco doesn't allow withdrawal of funds any more until they are completely gone, for I remember vividly late 2023 when this whole issue started, all through 2024 withdrawal was working and may of us here advised every user with a balance to withdraw their money just incase things gets out of hand, and this user didn't listen but here he is now complaining.

Aha! What a lost? Guy the orientation you got how to store bitcoin was very poor and that why you lost your bitcoins for this people. You didn't come to this forum early. If you came earlier, you would have gotten some good orientations on how to store your bitcoins in non custodial wallets and not a custodial wallets. And there is no way you can get back your coins since you don't know them. Sorry for the lost.

Your biggest mistake is using an exchange wallet as a storage wallet.

Custodial services shouldn't be used for storing funds and you are right that freebitco shouldn't be used as a wallet, but freebitco isn't an exchange. Freebitco started as a bitcoin faucet and then it turned into a casino.

Whether it's a gambling platform or any other website, the fact is that the longer a website has been operating, the more trust users have in it. By the way, a couple of years ago, hardly anyone could have imagined that freebitcoin would turn into a scam in such a short period of time.

yeah that’s true longevity really builds trust especially in crypto & gambling so people naturally let their guard down w/ older sites. A few years ago most users would never even question of this platform legitimacy but that’s also the lesson here things can change very fast in this space. A site being trusted before doesn’t mean it’s still safe now that’s why I think users should always look at the current withdrawal status & recent feedback not just the history, trust has to be ongoing not based on the past.

The moment they added FUN tokens to the casino, I knew they were going down. I have made my warning, theQuin didn’t agree (he was active in the forum by that time)

First theQuin disappeared, now the casino.

They kept operating a few more years after the FUN move though. It bought them the time they needed to plan their exit it seems.

Think about it, they didn’t implement LN, they didn’t implement Doge if having cheap transactions was their concern… they implemented a casino token which has zero value outside this casino. (Some people also argued otherwise btw, when I said this)

They mentioned payments/withdrawals to be made early 2026, so closing this thread is not a good idea when it's about to happen (if it would happen).

Where did they mention that payments will be made in early 2026? I checked Freebitco PR account and CSFBC account, I couldn't find any information regarding to early 2026 payments.

But after then, I will support that the thread be closed, I think 1xbit thread is closed/locked , and I see no reason why this shouldn't be locked too when and if the service it was created for is no longer in existence and functioning, we can't keep talking about freebitco for ever if eventually they finally pack up and leave for ever.

The odds of Freebitco not paying its customers will be 1.01 but the sky can be the limit for the odds of the opposite. I also believe that Freebitco won't pay its customers because what's the point? The reputation is already damaged and everyone wants to withdraw. If they process payments, they'll be left without money and customers. Now they are left without customers. They did a very stupid thing 1.5 years ago.

Given the circumstances, it would make sense to send a request to Polymarket Discord to create a market proposal on whether the Freebitcoin team will refund users or not. Of course, this would be for entertainment purposes, but on the one hand, by placing bets on this, defrauded users could potentially earn (or get back) something.

Months ago, there was discussion and information that two people, the owner and the main community manager here Wetsuit sold their casino or left the team.

These are just rumors, and until (unless, if we ever get an answer) we can verify this information, it will naturally be assumed that they are still the face of the faucet.

Let's play devil's advocate and assume this is true. Then why would they keep the new owner a secret, and unknown?

If FreeBitco.in wanted to pay, it should have been done already after the accusations were made. But until now, nothing has happened aside from saying "next year" and "next year."
Well, I will bet NO. They won't pay anyone. They don't care about their reputation, so it won't bother them either if accusations keep knocking on their door. Paying will be out of their mind, and even if they close this thread, other members will create another thread for them.

One of the few correct moves on the part of FreeBitco.in would be to transfer all funds to the escrow wallet of a trusted public figure, followed by an open, transparent user verification procedure. This would require clear, transparent algorithms and evaluation criteria so that anyone who is unjustifiably labeled a fraudster can openly challenge it. But this step is not for those who intend to steal funds.
And now they will say that they have verified 20 million users and paid 10,000 “honest users” their funds, and will even show transactions from an unknown wallet to unknown addresses...

Wetsuit has already received 9 negative trusts from DT members and there's also an active type 1 flag against him which has been posted by Free Market Capitalist.
I think they are more than enough to warn users about what's going on with the website. If someone ignores all those warnings, they would ignore a type 2 flag as well.

I would say that we simply wait till 2026 at the time they proposed they will pay or allow users with balances on their accounts to withdraw, this thread will be very important then to deter users from creating new threads that are not necessary, at that period, this thread will be the best place for us all to follow up on how things are going with the casino.

I personally would want it to keep open for now. There are a lot more victims who keep streaming in every passing months and maybe want to share their stories or updates here. You don't want every other victim opening up a different thread about freebitco.in asking or updating about what is going on.

The thread will quietly go down after some time, just like 1xbit's did.
