I am glad I decided just to hold and not to diversify in a centralized way as I planned with this casino... It scares me how bad things could have ended up for me.

I stopped having this type of confidence in centralized platforms no matter how long they've been operating and how big their reputation is after I lost over $400 I staked on Bkex exchange that year the exchange rug pulled on their customers with the claim that they are having issues with the Chinese government and they seized the exchange and all the deposited funds..

This is why I did not hesitate to withdraw and sell off all the fun tokens I had bought when I saw that it's turning out not to be a good investment, I did sold everything at a big loss back then but I ended up being very happy I took that decision back then because if I had waited until recently, like maybe last year or the year before, my money would have gone down the drain because by now, there wouldn't be anything to sell because it all worth zero dollars.
Meanwhile, the way the casino went down still surprises me each and every time I come across this thread here on this forum.

Casino bankrolls are not usually in a consistent upwards trend either. They're hard to predict and can have their own loss streaks.

The house edge on freebitco.in was and is big but they've added a lot of features to the site and I'm not sure it's as high as it had been when they were a simple faucet/gambling service with ads.

So it's a good decision to stay away from that side of investing (especially since  staked crypto altcoins have started to have similar apr with less risk).

You managed to pull off a good stop loss there, no doubt about it... And it is normal to be surprised because of the downfall of this casino, it is even older than the biggest casinos we see thriving today on this forum and thousands of people used their account on Freebitcoin as a way to store their Bitcoins back in the day, when exchanges were not as widespread as they are today. I personally thought FBT was too big to fail when I first discovered and realized how much money they had back then.

It seems both of us managed to dodge a bullet with this service... Makes me wonder whether it is even worth it to have passive income/ yield in decentralized services...

Auto renewal would have most likely kicked in by now with a lot of registrars. This is looking very much like the end, as there are 4 days left for renewal.

These 200 people could have filed a large number of complaints against Binance. I have a Binance account, but I don't know how to write to them. Going to law enforcement is useless; I've tried that in similar situations. In our country, only citizens expressing their civic position against the political regime are punished for public deception (there's an article for that in our criminal code) and/or fraud. The Bkex situation was real, sadly. There were many arrests made, and one of the execs fled. To be honest, what happened after the shutdown was insane and could easily be its own movie. Also all the stuff that was uncovered... My understanding is the exec that fled didn't have server access. We know for a fact the Chinese government has access to everything there, and they're refusing to give anything to users because they confiscated all funds due to "illegal gambling" (they state that the site having options was gambling). Their argument since has basically been that it's impossible for them to decipher who was taking part in options or benefiting from it via things like site interest and therefore they are taking everyone's money.

I think you're missing the point son, if the FBC owners don't renew the domain (which is looking very likely) then it doesn't matter who snaps up the domain at auction, the site is GONE, and all our funds are gone with it.

I doubt that anyone will make deposits if they renew the domain. It will be just like a donation to make deposits at Freebitco by ignoring all the issues. There is a possibility that Freebitco will stay available for a few days after the domain expiration date for the grace period.

Anyway, if Freebitco.in becomes inaccessible from the 11th of October, then Freebitco team will keep it like that for a few days. And they will renew the domain after a few weeks to create the impression that they are working in the background to resolve everything.

There is no point in messaging TheQuin. He has been offline since May 23, 2024.

That website has been shut down for more than 5 years.
Note that there's a big difference with what's happening to freebitco with what happened to their sister website. They made a closure announcement for freedoge.co.in and gave enough time to people to withdraw their funds from the website.
