The world has variety in every way. I don't think you have any choice. There will always be different implementations of crypto. I think the only ones we should shun are the clone coins which usually have poor and zero talent devs.

Yes because it's part of the crypto world, I think it's essential to have alternate coins to support the price increase of bitcoin. Because no man is an island as they say, I think it also applies in bitcoin because people would not be amused or might get bored if bitcoin is the only living coin out there in the crypto world.

It's upon to each one of us. Some people don't like AltCoins and they have their reasons. Bitcoin is the main Crypto-Currency among all, so it should have a special treatment from the investors if we want to see Crypto-Currency being a sucess in the future. There isn't problem to support AltCoins, the problem is to blame Bitcoin to bump another AltCoin and put it on the place Bitcoin is today (on the top).

If for better in life. I support bitcoin and altcoin. But for altcoin that has a future and a good project. Not just crazy ideas that are sold and suddenly a scam. It's like a rotten chilli. And altcoin is the place to collect bitcoin. So I support bitcoin and altcoin.

For me, we should support bitcoin and at the same time altcoins because some people are gaining there bitcoins through the altcoins. When the altcoin pump, they will sell it and instant gain but not all altcoins should be supported. Some altcoins are considered scam so be careful. For me the most trustworthy altcoins for me are ETH, LTC.

While 2017 certainly was The Year of Bitcoin, I have a strong suspicion that 2018 will be the Year of the Altcoin. And yes, that includes Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold, Bitcoin Silver, Bitcoin Copper, etc. Those are all altcoins. Just deal with it.

Yes because there is a lot of alternate coins out there which are worth investing for. And besides they also have a good return if you look carefully and monitor its price.

We should support them, but NOT all of them there are a lot Shocked of New altcoins and most of them are useless for the moment, we can keep some of them to use as an alternative for Bitcoin (small purchases , specific product- Dev for developpers , ASC for Miners ...)
I agree, for me i will support some other altcoins but not all of them, that’s why we need further research also which altcoins has the potential and has a future...maybe some altcoins seems to be lifeless for now but there is a big chance to go up and will follow also the footsteps of bitcoin, all  we have to do when we support some altcoins, just make sure you have researched well if it has really a future one...and just start a little amount so that when it will not succeed it is not too painful to lose money

Yeah we must support altcoins also to have balance in the cryptocurrency so that btc transaction fees would be lesser. But we must choose right altcoins because some are becoming scam when their developer leave it after profiting.

I think we should. Bitcoin is very expensive now and altcoin may still have opportunity. But we really need to do our homework when choosing which one to invest.

Who is 'we'?

If you want to miss out on opportunities that currently undervalued alt coins present, sure, don't buy them, buy them later when they are more expensive Smiley That doesn't say all alt coins are ok to buy. Do your own research and due diligence.

To clarify, we is basically everyone in the crypto community currently.

I have alts yes but that is for selfish gain, im talking about whats best for the world politically.... some have said they prefer everyone focus on BTC right now - Im not sure & need convincing of this argument.

Politically, we should be trying to foster corporate adoption of blockchain technology. bitcoin is a payment system at this point; although we could layer like omni, it would be inefficient, given the processing back bone of BTC (all that power!). Alts shine for this, instead of being an all purpose thing like bitcoin, the blockchains address specific needs, taking traffic off of other blockchains so that the whole sphere can operate at its best.

bitcoin itself should not be the agenda to push. its whats underneath the hood.

In my own perspective there is no problem that we support the altcoins in fact in market there is a  good competition that we called.
In this way if we support the different altcoins we can promote the essence and importance of the crypocurrency. In this way we can boost the adaptation of cryptocurrency in our  country.

Why not? If there is an opportunity I will take it. I mostly believe in bitcoin but I do not ignore altcoins. If you research a little about other coins you can easily find wide open opportunities . But everyone decides what is the best thing for himself.

some altcoin projects develop essential digiatal infrastructure, not to note their growth potential in value. you may miss the train from that prospective.

I support both, bitcoin and altcoin. I am collecting bitcoin from bounty altcoin, it is effective because if we are lucky, many altcoin are profitable. So, it is very good if we support both. especially for those who have little capital like me.
Yes because some altcoins is also profitable and cheap in price, then its good idea if you also have some altcoin because having them can give you an extra income. Also there are growing like bitcoin but not that much the value of bitcoin.

Supporting altcoins is a must since bitcoin will one day reach it's max supply and there won't be new holders or providers , so that's when altcoins will shine and probably get all the attention of investors , adopters and entrepreneurs so grabbing as much as we could of coins that looks promising to us now is just an anticipated move that can turn to be the best decision of our lives if we missed the bitcoin opportunity in 2012 .

Yo are right. if bitcoin prices too high one day later, surely many people will start using altcoin. therefore I also invest with altcoin, in addition to a little capital, I see there is a great opportunity to get profit from altcoin, although not as big as bitcoin.
