In my own experience, holding may not be the best option all the time, like this year, 2018, this is the year where the market went on a deep, I held my coins which are worth millions if I have converted them last january, now they’re worth so much lower. Now Im waiting for the value to go up once again, hopefully it will come very soon.

I agree with this statement. The simple retention of the crypto currency does not always bring a good profit. A lot of us are like that dude though for me, I believe that btc's value can be worth a lot more than it's price last december so i'm ok with holding for until next year. I'm not that good with the basics of trading and mostly I end up with only decent profits so hodling coins that I believe will have the best future will be my strategy.

Many people who earn so much money by holding bitcoin for longterm. Most of them are still believing holding bitcoin  is good to get more profit and me too. But other people don't believe and other people sell their bitcoin and price decrease and some people panic if they see the price decrease and totally the price dump but look the price today it's doing great because it increase again.

I think the HODL strategy will not mean much, if you start buying BTC right now. another case if you buy bitcoin 2 or 3 years ago.
if you buy right now, a good trading strategy and money management is enough to make a profit from existing price volatility.

You opinion looks erroneous on many fronts. Basically, you forget that when you sell your coins, there is always another side or party to the trade. For you to sell the coins, someone has to buy them from you. It not that people do not believe into Bitcoin anymore, it is just that no matter they want to hold into their Bitcoin there are still instances that they truly need to do such thing of selling it for the sake of having instant money

For all those who are asking why are we using the term hodl and not hold ,well it has been created here in the forum when one very known member spelled it by mistake and it went viral. People have its own way or strategy on how to play the market, it just needed the right timing and patience. We cant sometimes blame people to hold their bitcoin eventhough they are losing profit

It will really happen in the future and even now where the hodl strategy will not be patronized by people anymore. As time passes by and as the value continues to fall down, more and more people will not hold anymore since nothing's happening and things are just getting worst. We should always know when to hold and not so our time wouldn't be wasted.

I do not see this data accurate, as what we knew, what we can search in google is only the 2% information around the globe, which means, there is still a 98% of unknown informations we have not known because if its confidentialities and its possible effect to use if we know them. Becase if we are to think about it, if the word HODL is not anymore been used in the world of online, then probably market capitalization of cryptocurrency will surely go low. But there isn't.

That is a great article. he's the author of the article sure and stick with the words he said "hodl" and it is its advantages. very difficult to find people who are confident with the current bitcoin prices.

I think hodling was not actual during 2017, because the demand was mostly speculative due to overall hype. But now HODL strategy might gain more popularity because in 2018 investors look mostly at the idea of a token and a project in general.

If you are investors this is not a good strategies because it is not profited but someone is thinking the investment about the lost and instead of selling they HODL and waiting for the miracle. I think you need to check every hours if your holding is continuously downward of upward to maintain a big profit or to prevent a big loss.

When you hold the cryptocurrencies from the top-10, you reduce the chances to become the looser. Trading is more risky, especially when the crypto market is low.

Use only the HODL strategy do the coins that have potential. You will lose your moneg if you will hold shitcoins. It is really better if you will hold the coins that are promising and have profitable.

The volatility of the crypto is just like a basic property now a days so we can't take them out of crypto currencies.As you said now the prices were very cheaper so we have to invest more and wait until the price increases to our desired level that is called holding.
