 Socialism is worse. Always.

Why should we think that one centrally controlled fiat empire is "socialist" and another is not?

It doesn't make sense to me.  Are we talking about places where schools are cheap, those are worse and will fail?

Or is it places that have centrally controlled economies like the USA and China, which are worse than.. than what exactly?

Well as you know the theme of this thread is the ultimate 100% failure rate of Socialism. It was easy for me to predict, when I created my thread many moons ago that Venezuela will end up with blood in the street, thanks to military vehicles rolling over innocent Venezuelans.

Money is a vector of corruption. You can corrupt a system and have immense power without fiat money. People are corrupting others with Bitcoins. Fiat is not the problem in that case. Socialism is, at least withing this thread.

Schools are cheap... Children even cheaper.

Sichuan: corruption alleged in collapse of school on 9,000 students

For the first time, official sources admit that buildings were built poorly. Meanwhile, work continues around the clock to dig a drainage channel for the waters of the lake threatening 1.3 million people. Beijing thanks Taiwan for aid, and arrests those who criticized the government over the earthquake.

Beijing (AsiaNews/Agencies) - Hundreds of soldiers have already removed 70,000 tonnes of earth and debris, and have dug at least one third of the channel to drain the waters of lake Tangjiashan, the largest of the 35 new lakes created by the quake.  Meanwhile, official sources admit that the schools in Sichuan  toppled by the earthquake were poorly constructed.

A race against time is on to dig a drainage channel for the water, fed by the flow of the river Jian, before the pressure collapses the natural stone and earth dam, flooding the city of Mianyang and its 1.3 million inhabitants, about 190,000 of whom have already been evacuated to higher ground.  The rain is hampering the work, sticking the bulldozers in the mud and interfering with the helicopters.  According to Xinhua, the water is still 23 metres below the lower edge of the dam, and Zhou Hua, a Mianyang official, says that "the situation is under control".  The press have also reported, citing environmental protection sources, that the lake also contains 5,000 tonnes of toxic chemicals, like sulphuric and hydrochloric acid.

Meanwhile, Lin Qiang, deputy inspector of Sichuan's education department, has for the first time acknowledged that corruption may have contributed to the poor construction of the schools that collapsed, burying more than 9,000 students and teachers, out of the total of about 68,500 confirmed victims (while there are 20,000 "missing").  The parents of the victims are protesting that the schools collapsed, while the surrounding buildings held up.

Socialism was supposed to protect the children. Oh no! This is not Socialism. It's corruption. Just like in Venezuela. Not Socialism.

Always the same song. Always blood in the end.

Well I am inclined to agree with you but for the sake of argument, can you name one country that isn't socialist?   Sure the failure rate is 100% but it is happening far too slow in the corrupt socialist united state occupying much of north america, sure the buildings and infrastructure are crumbling far faster than in china but the interesting question is the timing.  Sure we can say that everybody dies but that's not going to be very useful as a medical opinion if you know what I'm saying.

All countries and all cultures and all Hollywood and all Google and all Facebook and all polar bear saviors and all religions. They all want to be Socialists. They all want to have others submit to their will while sitting on their throne.

That is why we, bitcoiners, exist. I can't know what the next paradigm shift will look like, but if I can make fun of myself while going toward the light, I am good baby!

I have a good friend with family still down there. He said work he is at work he is able to be almost normal, but elsewhere he cannot stop thinking about his family in danger.  #tough_times

That might be in Caracas, anywhere else such as Maracaibo are getting power cuts everyday several hours so "normal" gets thrown out of the window. We are cashless (by force, not by choice). No power, no transactions, no food...

Some people have USD, but its a minuscule minority. The $1 USD banknote already buys more than 10 times what the largest (500) VES banknote buys, and these "new" banknotes are not even 1 year old...

Its only going to get worse. Maduro "rose" the minimum wage; i hope the resident socialists are reading: To 40,000 VES. That's not even 7 USD a month.

Life here is basically: go to work (if you have one) and then immediately back home. Occasionally try to buy food to survive. If you are lucky to have working internet, the pain is alleviated a little. Don't get sick, you won't get medicine or treatment anywhere. If you have a stash of some thousand dollars, maybe you can get a bit of treatment in a private clinic. Forget public healthcare, the "socialist" government destroyed it completely, to the point you can actually get worse by trying to step into one of those (i'm not kidding, healthy people have gotten infected and didn't get any treatment anyway).

What happens if you get sick? Pray. Some herbalist medicine might help. Several people have died from lack of medicine and or treatment, from terminal to the formerly eradicated diseases that had sadly returned from the hell places that do illegal (mineral) mining in the south.
