Winner of this year, ETH or BTC?

I would vote for the etherium, my swill is used more often than bitcoin, for example, to participate in ICO or to buy coins, which is very important

I think the winner this year is the ethereum because it grows more confidently and quickly than the rest of the coins

Well as of right now, Ethereum is 0.0843btc, a long way from 0.053btc in April. While Bitcoin is struggling to maintain an uptrend, Ethereum is slowly gaining back lost ground to its ATH at 0.152btc. That's 1,258 dollars in today's BTC price.

That's a quote good analysis and as far as this year's price trend I think ethreum has upper hand as of now but still a long way to go as we are waiting for the bullrun and if ethreum repeats what happened last year then ethreum can win.

if we mean dynimic of capitalisation - i think that eth will winner. but if we mean absolute meaning of capitalisation - bitcoin will be first, no changes i think.

Recently, I was thinkig. Is there really any reason for the BTC to be the market leader? The only thing that is giving the value to BTC is pretty much the fact, that it was the first crypto currency. It is the grandfather of all cryptos. But we know it has its flaws... It was never designed for broad usage, it has scaling issues and so on.

On the other hand, we were given ETH. The Crypto Kitties or w/e the awesome internet meme ETH appliction is called showed us, that ETH network has issues with high amounts of usage. BUT, 90% of all altcoins are based on the ERC-20 standard, brought to us by ETH. The smart contracts using the Solidity are extremly good piece of technolgy.

So my question is. Do you think, that BTC will keep its leadership, or will ETH be the winner of this year and surpass its ancestor?

I really hope that Ethereum will win in this "coin battle" but maybe not in this year, I think that Ethereum will be #1 cryptocurrency in 2-3 years.

i think when btc wins win in this year ethereum will still follow the btc trail. because the price ethereum can be corrected to match the price of btc. but I think both coins this year will be very valuable and valuable.

The possibility of ethereum beyond bitcoin could happen but not in the near future. I think this year bitcoin will still be a winner, because the difference in bitcoin price with ethereum is very far away.

I do think that Bitcoin would be able to preserve its lead among cryptos given that etherium and Bitcoin is proportional with regards to market development. Indeed, etherium is a popular crypto which is having a high market demand which helps for it to keep up with Bitcoin. So as such, both would be winners. Also, it is still a long way for this year and there are lot of time and anything could possibly happen so it would be hard to choose.

I think it's too early to judge mate; we're not even at the half of the year. However, if I would base my answer on what's happened already, I would say Bitcoin has been better this year compared to Ethereum, at least for the past few months. I say that because Bitcoin has shown way better movements, specifically increases in the past several months compared to Ethereum, which mostly showed only dumps with gains, but were not too significant so-to-speak.

It's all about the faith people have in a coin. Bitcoin is long not only because it's the pioneer cryptocurrency but because very many people have developed trust in it and it will be very hard for that trust to wane out. Also because the fate in of many altcoins is tied to bitcoin presently. Ethereum is very likely to appreciate in value but won't overthrone bitcoin soon

I think same. Ethereum potential hasn't been unleashed yet. A lot of updates arrive from Ethereum community these days.
And it will probably affect ETH price nearest weeks.

ETH will not happen to be superior to BTC for this year because to discuss it is still too early for ETH because ETH is not ready to replace Bitcoin and for this year it will still be held by BTC and that is also valid for several years ahead.

This both coin is proven to have good value every year so I think this year both btc and eth will boom this year and it will more grow in coming years. Yeah it always change the price in the market but this both coin is proven and valuable coin.
