Ico was not the case at the beginning. Now many scammers use ico to perform scam, so now people wrongly think that all ico is scam, ico lacks supervision, which is a big problem.

Just stay away from coins that are dubious, you need to have some common sense to buy and lots of common sense when selling. You won´t make money if you don´t.

if you dont want to get scam by new project then make your own deep research about their project first. do not just jump in their icos without knowing what are their product. most of good project has their product ready. do not invest on icos that has no product to offer.

It really is hard to believe that there are some ICOs who are intended to scam people. There are all hypocrits and rely on the weakness of people especially those who are new to bitcoin. So sad.

That sucks there are a lot of scams coin eveywhere that only leads into a loss everywhere every platforms and they keep on coming as the cryptocurrency are getting a pot of popularity. Maybe that is the negative side of being popular a lot of people are trying to imitate the other thing for them to fool a lot of people just for their own sake. Just for the money that they wanted to have. Even in just a simple ico and being a bounty hunter you can always experience a scam coin that leads into nothing.

Yep, too many. Fortunately there are also many good ones that we can choose to increase or bag. Just be cautions and everything will be fine.

Scam projects are normal also in the real life. Everyone wants "free" money.
And especially in crypto it is easy to steal some money.

Yes, there are too many scams in the market right now, so it's best for novices to use Google Search and ICO ratings to circumvent them.

Beware of many, many ICO-Rating sites. Their rating can be bought and they are bought.
Also Beware of users opinions here in Bitcointalk.
Through the use of Bountycampaigns a lot of scamICOs are heavily promoted by dozends or more bitcointalk members.
They sell theiŕ soul for a few satoshis.

Good Review site: https://icobench.com

Two of dozends of bad ICO ranking sites: https://www.icotokennews.com/ https://icoranker.com

Also beware of Facebook and Telegram groups. With a few dollars you can manipulate opinions and receive Millions of Dollars with scamICOs.

My most important feature of a real and good ICO is:

It has to create an own decentral network and invent new technology.
Never ever invest in an ICO that creates tokens that can be only used at a centralized point or single company
Never invest in a cloud-mining-ico. Well to say it more generally: Dont invest in cloud-mining at all.

After having seen how high the share of last years failed ICOs was, I stoppedt investing in companies via ICO.
Its much better to invest in Companies via shareholding. So you got rights, not worthless tokens. Well, the risk remains....

In fairness to legit ICO's. There are so many them  that are not successful because of so many reasons and people would think that they are scam. Some are really doing bad things just to make money. I hope that this people will be captured.

In every community, there are always the bad mind people who will always try to make it through the evil means. These people are everywhere you find yourself. And they do it professionally too. All that one has to do is to be very careful and patient. If you always want to make it overnight, you will always fall in their hands.

I agree with you. Many project scam so that i dont know.
In recently, uchit scam many people. They only creat 18 uchit token and scam many money from imvestor. So, if i invest any project, i will check it very carefully for many channel: website, code, idea, team dev, etc...

Now, when bitcoin falls, there are fewer such projects. People no longer invest their money in dubious projects. So everything will be fine.

Thanks God I've never been scammed by any ICO, but a lot of them didn't manage to keep their tokens on the adequate level.
It's very sad when you buy a coin for $1 and it drops below $0.5 in a couple of weeks..

Truth to be told. There are really ICOs that intends to scam people. It's upsetting but people must be learned from it. Before you join any bounties or invest in their ICOs make it a hobby to study the project, read their whitepaper, check their roadmaps and the people behind the project.

I have been a victim of so many airdrops and bounties coins that i end up holding till now, maybe till Christ come. Somebody have to stop this mess before it cause a great bad reputation on this industry........

I always look at quality of the white-paper and website to figure out probability of scam projects.
White-paper is a good source for you to indicate on that subjects.
Because of that crypto is not regulated, there's been a lot of fraudelent scams and a lot of ppl lost their money.
In crypto fellow should be very cautious.

For now it's easy to ICO any of project. But some of them have worth. Therefore, we need to knowledge exactly about that project or that coins.

i have experienced the scam ICOs a few times, and those times were disappointing. You work hard and put your full effort in doing your task in the campaigns (in terms of bounty campaigns), but inthe end you will have nothing. It is more disappointing to.the people who trusted that ICO and have invested in it and in the end it will be scammed. One reason why up until now I do not invest yet.

I also experience scam coins. Next time we need to make sure everything and research everything. Even in just a simple ico and being a bounty hunter you can always experience a scam coin that leads into nothing.

This is indeed upsetting, I've experienced joining an ICO, it was a successful one. The pre-sale token were all sold, they got large number of ETH for investment but it turned out that the project was a scammed. Many investors got angry, bounty hunters didn't able to get their token. It was frustrating, I invested my time and effort in that project.
