Bitcoin was supposed to be used as a currency, not only a form of investment. However, it's been more successful as a form of investment, a "speculative asset".

Do you guys think that this can change in the long term ?

I dont think so that bitcoin is a failed cryptocurrency cause we all know that bitcoin and other cryptocurrency is a kind of that. I think that the best way. The real purpose of that is to say about the best cryptocurrency in this way, but we can do that for our future

We can't say this thing right now because the future are still bright with bitcoin. Yeah, for now a lot of black propaganda just to ruins bitcoin reputation but I still believe in the future of this thing, bitcoin will become a major currency in the future. This is just the beginning.

maybe bitcoin is not yet a currency, because the bitcoin value is unstable, and currently there is a lot of propaganda in this bitcoin world, but at other times if bitcoin value is stable, it could be the country's currency.

Bitcoin is deemed to fail as a means of exchange.
Because bitcoin is not a store of value because it is so out of focus and inconsistent. No one uses it as a medium of exchange .

Bitcoin do not failed as a currency, in fact there are already sixteen countries that legalize the use of bitcoin and accepted as their official currency.

Though bitcoin failed as a currency, it became successful as an investment anyway. What’s making it looks failure as currency is that other countries are not into crypto for some reasons and that’s really one of the challenges that bitcoin should pass through to make it served its purpose, IMO.

Remember that Bitcoin is still very new. And when you don't trust Bitcoin, you can buy Altcoins. There are lots of it.

For long-term investments may purchase altcoin but now many altcoins are immediately lost from circulation after ICO, which is worrying, so it's still reliable to be bitcoin, whether long-term or short

We are still at the beginning of this financial revolution so it's normal that there are some problems and things like bitcoin are being used for other reasons (speculation) rather than the actual reason they've been created for. We'll see in the next years if finally BTC will be used correctly.

Hello. from my point of view, I think it's time to invest massively in bitcoin, we must take this opportunity. Even though the price has fallen, it will surely rise, and those who invest now will enjoy later. Earnings will come more or less, but we will certainly be on the plus. Bitcoin represents and will forever represent a landmark in the crypto world

it is extremely early days still... so no, it hasn't failed, as it scales and gets larger, and more "value" is in it, the volatility will reduce, we've already seen this. Smiley

I don't think that Bitcoin is a failure. Bitcoin helped a lot of people. And by that, it is a living proof that Bitcoin is not a failure but a success. The first ever cryptocurrency exist. It is the good example for the main coins why they exist in the market. I strongly believe that Bitcoin is a success.

I think bitcoin will not change in the long run or short term. because the use of bitcoin has changed into investment assets. not as currency. bitcoin will change if it has regulation and fixed value. but bitcoins are created to be unmanageable. so bitcoin will remain an asset of speculation.

Bitcoin is new form of payment. We are using traditional way of payment. When card payment launched by banks then it took a long period for regulate in market. So assume result for Bitcoin taking as currency is in hurry now. We should give more time to Bitcoin to proof it's success. I think it can good option for online international transaction.

Exactly. Every thing takes time to establish its name in the market . So is the case with BITCOIN. Right now it is a growing period of BITCOIN as well as CRYPTOCURRENCY . Therefore it is not right to judge its success at the moment.

Bitcoin is an online virtual currency. It has no real existence. Bitcoin's price is always variable. If Bitcoin's price was at a fixed price, it could have become a real currency. Bitcoin we can trade online.

People treat bitcoin as gold and a speculative asset and I am sure it will stay that way. It can't be hacked easily unlike others that are very vulnerable to attacks. There are other altcoins that can play with a stable price that can be used for payment.

maybe because bitcoin has a very high price, so maybe the process takes a lot of time, and maybe even better to invest.

maybe for now bitcoin is a digital currency that can be used for investment rather than as a currency because all countries and people have not formalized bitcoin as the currency that is officially valid for transactions, the future may be possible and accepted

Of course it will but in a very long term. When most of the countries start accepting bitcoin and the price stabilizes according to that then I dont think there will be fluctuations like this.

I think currently bitcoin is still early and new to say failed as a currency, we must always be patient that the change does not happen in a short time, I always sure if the user continues to grow it will automatically make bitcoin become popular and next currency.

You can not talk about the complete failure of the currency while it is in the market and holds a good price. Everyone just saw his maximum growth and the real price. I think bitcoin if it is legalized, it will be lower than the previous price.
