I'm trusting MtGox right now. I don't think they will screw me. If they do, they won't take THAT much though...

I think OP went a bit overboard with the security measures. Multiple-page-passwords are a bit overkill, don't you think?

It is beter to spend 5 more minutes logging in then to loose everything if the security fails. Isn't that right ?

True! They had 100% reliability until they ran off with everyone's BTC. Also, hiding something under a brick in the park is more secure than MTGOX. |

I do think that mybitcoin and mtgox did very well planned scam, fraud - call it as you want friends. But i lost 70btc in mybitcoin without doing anything wrong, without making any mistakes, without getting any chance to make smth about it. Just I thought - thanx god I didn't loose all my btc in mybitcoin. But yes - i don't trust anyone now  |

In regards to the P2P exchanges (buying/selling coins, goods, services, etc) ... I find that this market has many similarities to the e-Gold market in my eyes. Exchanging with e-Gold was a hassle a lot of the time due to the fact that scammers can take your money, not get charged back, and remain anonymous. There are some serious issues, but the anonimity has many benefits as well. It is worth it in the end, and if you know how to protect yourself when dealing with others, I doubt you have to seriously worry about losing anything to scammer. A lot of the time it is the ones that don't take the necessary precautions to make sure an exchange is done in the safest manner possible, and with the most trusted individuals only.

this is so true! you can't trust any one now a days. I lost most of my savings trying to go to bitcon. I was devastated, but luckily I was able to recoup my losses this week when the price dropped low enough to buy back the amount of coins I tried to cash out to get to the con. I'll never take another forum user at their word again! (New account to protect my identity...)

Agreed with MtGox. I've had luck with CaVirtex as well. It's run by a pair of awesomely helpful Albertans.
Are there any good BTC escrow sites that people have and are still using?
