block explorer still shows my coins are there, but when i log into the client as I normally did, balance shows up at zero. I guess it's not connecting to any of the peers. The console output says: java.io.EOFException

Anyone with this problem? Solution? TY.

Stop your client.  Copy your blocks.nxt.bak over blocks.nxt, and transactions.nxt.bak over transactions.nxt, then restart client.

Perfect. TY. NXT sent

wget http://www.nxtcrypto.org/nxt-client-0.5.0.zip

Is anyone else getting this?  Is there a place where I can download it?

I thought to give some guys from a forum that I am a member of a link to a server that I run a nxt client on so they can open own accounts and ask for nxt in the faucet

Here is the link
https://www.quicknxt.com:7875/
Although I baught ssl from comodo I still get root cert missing if someone knows how to fix it would be nice hehe
I followed this http://community.xmatters.com/docs/DOC-1228#.Usnx_GCYbYd

You can give this link to ppl to get a feel of nxt https://www.quicknxt.com:7875/

Obviously don't put real big money via this link its only for testing I am not doing it with intention to steal but
I don't take any responsibilities if someone opens an account there and loses money!!!!

I am unsure how long I will keep it up and running most of the ppl that I gave it to said they hate the way the passphrase is done and that they will not put money in nxt when they know that a simple bot can go and just get acocunts easy enough.

What do I answer to this true statement??? They said even if they put super random passphrase it still sux to know that they can get stolen without 3rd party security you know all RSA tokens, google authentication etc that is used at present. I have no idea what to tell them Smiley cause they are right.
Their passphrases can get cracked

New clone. This is pretty much a NXT clone if they can pull it. Admittedly, the initial distribution was more well thought out.

Yeah, these kids will go far:

thanks for telling me about this. i definitely don't want to put all of my money in 1 basket so if other talented developers surface with the intention of copying the ideas of nxt with all new code ill definitely be investing in that. its the ideas that are important not the specific implementation. more competition in this space is definitely good.

with that being said i already see some evidence in their post indicating that they may not really understand how decentralized networks work. anyway its all going to come down to how well they can answer my questions.

If one can not confer upon another a right which he does not himself first possess, by what means does the state derive the right to engage in behaviors from which the public is prohibited?

First we need as solid specification.

Then we need run some simulations.

The current situation is that all the fixes are like duct tape holding together an implementation that was written in haste.

Let's for second imagine a better solution that has

(1) Addresses that Bitcoin addresses with checksums.  The current implementation is a java long which is only 2^63.  Clearly that is too small and is hackable via brute force GPU systems.

(2) Using arbitrary-precision numbers in the code rather than using a long to represent a number.

(3) A more secure wallet, where wallet access is not exposed to the internet.

(4) Code that come with tests to verify functionality and perform regression tests.

(5) An open code review,  non of this funny business where code has features removed and have supposedly 'injected bugs'.

(6) Standard JSON interfaces to allow other exchanges to easily integrate the coin.

.... ( there are a boat load of other improvements that tells me that everything needs a re-boot )

More than 90% it is a scam. They boasted that all features are near ready which pretty much pure bull given how difficult it is to do one new thing. It would be more believable if they are more modest.

kinda random
but I bought a 30 person teamspeak3 server
if anyone wants to use it to chat with friends or make trades etc feel free to use it.

speakslc1.teamspeak.net:23232
password is: next110551

48 hrs dns will be NXT.teamspeak.net
It has DDOS Protection etc

I'll probably purchase a domain and provide up to date login info in the future

I don't have a mic set up at the moment but I'll be on there every day

wonder if the manipulators still are trying to play DGEX.

Seen it before (prior to the trading fee) where the price went from like .00009 to .00008 in like half an hour, then jumped back up pretty quick with huge buy and sell walls being destroyed in a short time.

Remember when my 10k Nxt sell was sold within a few seconds during that time lol.

From my trading experience (not that I trade much in crypto... too risky), it's mostly just natural market movements.
