What is so special about platform which is in my opinion jumping point for many fake initial coin offers?
It is not a currency. I would have understood value if ether was currency, but it is not.
Well first of all you are only considering the fake initial coin offerings, lets chuck that. Ethereum basically provided a platform with smart contracts which apart from fund raising aka ICO, have a lot many use cases. There are various ALTs out there who claim to have higher TPS and cheaper transactions then Ethereum but how many of them have experience to handle the load Ethereum is having all the time. Projects talk about creating there own blockchain but first they come up in the market with the help of Ethereum, examples TRON, and many others. Even one of the use cases of Ethereum is being a currency too, there are many marketplace which allows puchases via Ethereum. So Sire!! I would suggest you to first do intial research before spreading any kind of FUD or fake newsl |

Ethereum coins just gain so much popularity now a days, it was the developers work and effort plus most of the icos today who are starting their own business in the market are using ethereum coins to scale the price of their tokens. |

I think when the market goes down you can buy both BTC and ETH as they both have in the future a good potential for growth.

First mover in smart-contract platforms. Also every coin that does well on ethereum makes ethereum do well. With the idea that smart-contract platforms could break open trillion dollar markets the valuation isn't completely ridiculous. It might be early however and there are some decent alternatives.
The value of 1st like bitcoin is always big. And also the Dapps under it if those remains valuable the main eth will stay as well. So if you want to invest you must take a look at budding platforms like eth |

i think the trust that makes it worth it. You can buy any crypto with ethereum. All marketplace receive ethereum because they can exchange it with any currency

The best thing about Ethereum which has made it relevant even with the great threat of bitcoin lying just above it is the thin o its Blockchain network, here the coin not only has the ability to support itself but also other altcoins in the market

I think it is the fact that ethereum is the altcoin that showed everyone that there is a way that another coin besides bitcoin can do well and be widely accepted, and once people saw the progress that ethereum was making, more and more people wanted in on the action which is what helped to drive up the prices to where they are now. |

Smart contracts but for me I like using it over bitcoin because it is faster in transactions and cheaper while bitcoin is slow and expensive.
