Hi guys
I know this might sound like a newbie question, but Ive not had enough bitcoin to think about putting any in cold storage since Cryptsy ripped me off when they went down Sad
But just lately ive built myself back up a bit, and just need to check my understanding of a creating a cold wallet is correct ? This is what I think was the best way but im not sure Huh

1. Download latest BTC client
2. move to a pc not connected to the internet.
3. Create an address on that PC without internet.
4. Send fund to address created on PC with no internet access.
5. Save keys in safe place Smiley

Also I was wondering if there are any 100% safe third party wallets that enable quick access if needed ?

Sorry if my question has been covered many times, but I just don't want to make a big mistake.

Thanks
Rick

My suggestion is there are many wallets like hardware wallet, online wallet, paper wallet etc. Each has its own specification you have to choose the wallet based upon your needs. Any wallet you can choose but you need to protect them safe never mention what wallet you use. Never save your passwords or else dont save the password in reachable or same place always. Don't share your identity, which can be used to hack your wallet. Never enter untrusted or suspicious website. This how you can protect your cryptocoins.

You should not store your bitcoin on the trading platform. Thus, exposure of your security key online is reduced. Nonetheless, desktop wallets are still susceptible to hacks if your machine gets infected with malware designed to root out keys and steal Bitcoins.

Wallet hardware is very safe it is a feeback given by many people. but you have to buy to be able to use it. it does not matter if you want to sacrifice your money for good security. but I myself use my wallet online with free but still very safe. because I use 2fa in every account

The best way to store bitcoin is to keep it in a cold wallet and store it in a secret place in your home.

I would recommend storing Bitcoin in a hardware wallet. Sure, there are a number of free wallets, like MEW (MyEtherWallet) but they are more susceptible to attacks or at least, phishing attack.

You can also try paper wallet but considering of creating or making it,  it is time consuming.  I think almost all wallets available are safe and it only depends on your carelessness on exploiting your keys.

Yup. Cold wallets are the best to secure your BTC especially if you have a large amount of it. But you should still be careful in keeping your private key safe.

If you don't have money to buy a hardware wallet then I highly suggest you get yourself an online wallet, if you're gonna carry around a huge amount of BTC then I'd suggest you try to keep it at maximum security, store you keys in the most private place you know and lastly keep it on a 2FA authorization to keep it more secured, However if you do have enough money to buy a hardware wallet then I'll recommend you to buy yourself a Ledger Nano S wallet, out of all the hardware wallets I do think this is the most affordable wallet out of all hardware wallets out there, though this is definitely the best way to store your bitcoins.

I am an extraordinary aficionado of the equipment wallets with regards to the security perspective. There are numerous approaches to store Bitcoins in disconnected wallets including paper wallet, equipment wallet and so on. You can download the rumored paper wallet generator from GitHub and move it to any disconnected PC and create paper wallets to store your assets disconnected. Then again, equipment wallet is another way which is more adaptable to utilize.

I suggest that you create your own wallet or download some files that are keeping your bitcoin secure and safe. A wallet that needs security key or some key number to be more secure. Also, i suggest to have a blockchain to more secure from the hackers, who wants to enter your bitcoin.

The only secure way is just cold storage like people keep saying here, Trezor but if you feel its too expensive you can use a cheaper one like Ledger nano S or even a paper wallet.

the best thing that you can do is just to store all your bitcoins in a hardware wallet, they are never going to get hacked and you will be quiet because of that.

Well the best way to store bitcoin safely is to just save it in your bitcoin wallet where you can be able to assure that your bitcoin will be safe and secure and also far from being hack. Also you must remember to keep your password private and do not give it to any untrusted site or person as well.
