Bitmain launches the Z9 Equihash miner

Z9's are showing up now.  So.. anyone know how to overclock of if these can be?  The max they run is 550m.  I wanna see them at 650m

Mine got delayed due to "equipment failure" -- did yours actually arrive and can you confirm this? Or are you basing this on the fact that they have a 550Mhz image available for download?

Mine arrive tomorrow, friend already has his so I can confirm.  500 is "balance" mode, 550 is "turbo" mode.  I have heard that people were getting close to 50kh in the discord I am in, but my friend gets around 44-46kh in turbo mode and very quiet meaning the damn miner isn't even trying.  This miner should be able to do at least 600-650m but we need to figure out how to actually overclock to that.  Also, the inspect element trick does not seem to work and no firmware other than what it has to try so we gotta figure out another way unless we do actual editing of the cfg file.

It was very hard for them to ship these I know it's something with the underclock.  These are way more power house miners than they look and we need to figure out what it clocks to.

Whoa! That's a really awful tariff

Not sure what I'm going to be hit with here in Canada, on the 2 Innosilicon A9s I bought back in early July it was about CAD$700, hoping it's about the same with the Z9s

this is a big risk cause u can brick your Z9 and no way to go back. i'm not sure if there is a recovery method with the sd card for the Z9?

Except not. Seems to be hit and miss based on what is reported here. I just got hit for $919/ea from DHL.

I bought it personally; not through a business name. Not sure if its any better if you buy from a reseller instead of direct.

I'm very skeptical we'll be able to overclock these, reason being there are 3 hashboards, not 4 (maybe I'm the only one who presumed that it'd be 4, given it was 4 times the speed of a Mini?), and each of these boards is running about 15 KSols/s.  In effect, I think we're dealing with the equivalent of three overclocked Z9 Minis in one box, so there's no where to go.  Obviously I could be way off (I'd prefer that, actually) but so far, I'm not hopeful.

It has same chip count as 4 Mini’s, and reportedly runs at 500, so definitely not 3 oc’ed mini’s.
