Bitmain has confirmed that it's seeking a public listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The company has made $742 million in net profit during the first half of 2018 and held $886.9 million in crypto as of June 30.

The Zcash nethash has increased crazy amounts in the last 7 days.... my 1 Z9 mini was making .6 coins beginning of the week and now returning .4 coins...  There was a slow reduction since I got it in June, but the last 1.5 weeks, the decrease in returns have increased significantly.

Your z9 mini uses algorithm "Equihash" and a number of coins use that algorithm.

If you bought your z9 mini just to mine Zcash(ZEC) and hodl that single coin you are out of luck, I guess.

I, myself, use multiswitching(switching between different coins that all use Equihash algorithm) when mining and in my case have what I mine exchange to Bitcoin(BTC) and Litecoin(LTC) and then I choose to hodl BTC and LTC.

I use prohashing.com as miningpool with nanopool(ZEC into a wallet and autoexchange to BTC) and MPH(Multiswitch and autoexchange to BTC) as backup miningpools.

You can use whichever miningpools you choose.

You can also choose to mine to a wallet/exchange where you yourself can exchange to other coins/Fiat-money (£, $, €) you find attractive or best price.

All info about this can be found in this forum and on the Internet.

Good luck!

Not talking about coin value in my post.  Was only talking about daily coin mined and the significant jump in hashrates causing less daily returns this week. Whether is ZEC, ZEN, ZCL or whatever Equihash coin is out there, this week, the amount of daily coin return has dropped by 20-30% from what I see.  I was using Zcash as an example, the same can be seen across the other coins.

ok!

I was trying to explain that by having a strategy maybe it's possible to compensate oneself a little by converting mined coins into other cryptos!

I was also addressing other readers of this forum-thread!
Trying to help!

I agree thas daily returns dropped to much in to short of a time!
I should have done my homework better before buying but it is what it is !

Have you tried this method?

https://support.bitmain.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003595387-How-to-reset-miner-to-factory-settings-
(Depending on where your SD-cardslot is placed you will use method 1 or method 3, read instructions in link for method 1 and 3 to decide which alternative is valid in your case.)

Recover from SD-card should be last option, I think!

Hi. The miner does not start the SD card not work indicator light, but the cooler is spinning.

Have you tried the method 1 or 3 whichever valid in your case using the "reset"-button function ? ? ?

Have you tried having power only connected to controllerboard ? ? ?

Have you carefully tried moving all of the cables to check if you have bad connection somewhere ? ? ?

does fan speed up max and then go back down and automatic adjust fan speed Huh
IF it does then that part of firmware must be working(running) and adjusting according to temp measured from each hash-board.

can you measure power usage from wall socket to PSU ? ? ?
How much?

AND the firmware you used, was it correct: may 26 2018 version Huh

Method : 1. Restore via Reset button

(This method can be applied within 10 minutes when the miner boots.)

After powering on the miner for 2 minutes, please press "Reset" button for 5 seconds, then release it. The miner will be restored factory settings within 4 minutes and automatically restart (no need to power off the miner).

Method : 3. Restore via IP Report button

(The miner will automatically revert to factory default firmware)

This method is only applicable to the miner which with the SD card slot on the left of Ethernet interface.

Please power off the miner, then hold down the IP Reporter and don’t release it. At the same time, please power on the miner. Releasing the IP Reporter after 5 seconds, the machine will automatically restore factory settings.

NOTE: This method is not applicable to the miner which has a SD card on the right of the Ethernet interface.

If I buy one, is it still profitable to mine?

https://www.asicminervalue.com/miners/bitmain/antminer-z9
look at "where to buy"

check out ROI column

answer is :
Probably not at current prices and current value of Equihash coins!
Don't know if network hashrate and difficulty will continue up like crazy as the last couple of weeks!

I think I broke my Z9 Mini.

The fan is not getting recognized anymore:

Oct 11 21:36:21 (none) local0.notice cgminer[1335]: No Fan find, check again
Oct 11 21:36:22 (none) local0.notice cgminer[1335]: No Fan find, check again
Oct 11 21:36:24 (none) local0.notice cgminer[1335]: No Fan find, check again
Oct 11 21:36:25 (none) local0.notice cgminer[1335]: No Fan find, check again

I worked with a fan faker before the miner is not even responding when the original fan is attached.

Is there a work-around to disable the fan check or do I really have to send it in to bitmain?
