Now a millionaire question:

Now we are around 60 percent 500.000 reward coins mined. What will happen now?

1. price will rise around block 90k when the halving of reward will approach, then it may get to 100 satoshi shortly and then slowly drop because miners will leave the ship and coin will slowly die (it has death intended, look at block halving rateand reward )

2. price will rise and will stabilize, ignoring fact that the currency will be secured by less and less miners or the transactions will get more expensive

3. price will skyrocket and it will fully compensate the halving rewards and doge will get extremelly rare

4. nothing will happen because there are still too many doges owned by whales + earlyminers still owning loads of doges scalping every bigger growth of price

5. price will go lower because people will worry about the death of coin by halving blocks too fast and panic sell will dump the price back to 0

In Pump and Dump we trust.

I don't understand much about this (mining and trading), but looking at what you say, dogecoin has been alive for one month and still about 20-25 days to finish that amount of block reward. Looking and the perspective and possible future increasing value of dogecoin, I think that 20-25 days is a lot, and with this I think that there is still a lot of mining until reaching halving block reward, so I think miners rather mine with this difficulty and keep for low price and 5-10 days before it comes to halving, price will increase more rapidly. So basically I think that price won¡t increase hugely, maybe a small amount due to so many people interested in dogecoin, but not much much more, I think not more than 60, or even goes lower than how it is now.

I think is more logical for me to think that, but probably I am wrong.

nothing much.  we've mined < 30% of all possible dogecoins, so it's only getting started.

most speculators don't know how to mine, don't know what mining involves, and don't know what a 'block reward' is.  halving block rewards doesn't make a difference to a non-miner.

dogecoin is more likely to experience a pump and dump on the day when block rewards are halved.  this will likely be done by a group of 'whales'  that will take advantage of people speculating on dogecoins.

otoh, someone taking an investor approach to dogecoin will largely ignore the day-to-day pumps, dumps, and flux, and live their life.

But are you a miner or are you just taking information looking at the charts?. I think that if there is halving of block rewards the miners who cannot acomplish with the difficulty of mining the coin after its price increases will make them think that maybe it's not so worth or affordable which makes a difference with the persons who have directly bought the coin and make transactions with it (in trade or buying/selling large quantity of different things hopefully in the future as there is no future for doge in any other way). Those persons expect the coins to have a real value the same way miners do, but the difference is in the people that buy it make it with money (USD, EURO, etc) and not with electricity and code. There is a lot of difference and advantage for miners as if for any reason coin does not grow as it's expected to do, they won't lose as much as the people who have bought it and don't pay attention to it. You cannot leave your money away thinking that maybe you are millionaire in 2 or 3 years, because maybe when you look at your account after 2 years is on zero, which I definitely know that won't happen to doge. Anyway, I think that it is an advantage for miners but it's true also that is more complicated to mine than just buying, and that's why it's better to be a miner, because i think that they are one step forward than the people who buys it on the first stages.

If my calculations are correct,
The day we might reach 100,000 blocks i.e., when the block reward gets halved, will be on Valentine's Day (Feb 14)

Trading aside I see price as a function of difficulty and net hash rate. So during the block halving I think the following will happen:

- just prior to it, we'll see a bit of a price boost as buying intensifies, mostly from people wanting in at the last minute
- multipools not already mining doge will switch to it due to the temporarily increased price, increasing difficulty
- after the halving happens, the difficulty will seriously spike, causing multipools to drop doge, along with other miners getting cold feet that were only in it for the first run
- people will cash out at the higher price, causing a large run-on sale and rush to the bottom, and more miners dropping the currency
- people will buy in again at the perceived low price (we might even hit like 20 satoshi again), and the price will bungie for a while
- equilibrium is reached, with a bit less miners than before, higher difficulty than before, and a slightly higher price (not double). Mining will be less profitable than before, even with the higher price

The real price equilibrium depends on how many miners switch to something else. I plan on liquidating half my doge into BTC during the price spike, but will keep the other half as more of a long term investment. The rate may hit 1 satoshi eventually, killing off the coin, but for me it's more about supporting the dogecoin movement. Oh yeah, and on the off chance it goes to the MOON!!!

Quick Start

Start with registering on our pool & creating workers for your computers. You can use our automated config generator in our workers page and download pre-configured files for your mining software.

EU Stratum Server: stratum+tcp://eu.coinum.org:3334
US Stratum Server: stratum+tcp://us.coinum.org:3334

CGMiner Configuration

Here is sample CGMiner configurations with fail-over support. Given that the stratum server you use fails, your miner software will continue to work with out other stratum server.
Note: You have to change WORKER and PASS with your actual worker-name and worker-password values you get from workers page.

EU
Code:
./cgminer -o stratum+tcp://eu.coinium.org:3334 -u WORKER -p PASS --failover-only -o stratum+tcp://us.coinium.org:3334 -u WORKER -p PASS --scrypt -I 13

US
Code:
./cgminer -o stratum+tcp://us.coinium.org:3334 -u WORKER -p PASS --failover-only -o stratum+tcp://eu.coinium.org:3334 -u WORKER -p PASS --scrypt -I 13

Features

  • Our network - We already operate first class & high performance pools, check our other pools over http://www.coinium.org
  • %0 fee - Our network have no fees! We just kindly ask you to donate if you like to.
  • Detailed Stats & Graphs - We do have now pretty graphs & stats for every single piece of information of our pools! - http://www.coinium.org/poolmanager/
  • Stratum servers - We have stratum servers in Europe and  United States. Right now we have a total of 4 servers (2 stratum server, 1 webserver and 1 database server) and we are quickly upgrading & adding new servers to stack when we need to.
  • Fail-over config support - In case that the stratum server you use fails, your miner will just continue to mine with our secondary stratum server.
  • VARDIFF enabled - Our stratum servers will shift your work difficulty based on your hash-rate automatically.
  • DDOS Protected - Our servers are DDOS protected 7x24!
  • Automated backups - We get automated backups of our system.
  • Automatic payments - You can set automatic payments if you like to.
  • Fast confirmations - We are quickly processing your transactions once newly found blocks are confirmed.
  • Automatic config generator - Check our workers page to automatically download a generated configuration file for your workers with fail-over support!
  • Continous support - We are eager to help our users! You can ask for support in our forum topic.
  • IRC support - We have operators in our IRC channel and you can chit-chat about mining too.
  • Mobile friendly - We have mobile friendly user interface so you can check your miner's status from your mobile devices
  • Contests - We are regularly creating contests and giving bonus coins to our miners!

Stats & Graphs!

We do have now pretty graphs & stats for every single piece of information of our pools! - Check it out http://www.coinium.org/poolmanager/pool/Dogecoin/
