Is it possible to check the PoW network hashrate anywhere?

The most comprehensive block explorer is https://emercoin.mintr.org/stats and on that page you can see current difficulty.

That explorer is great because you can also search Emercoin's NVS. For example, to see all the registered *.emc and *.coin domains: https://emercoin.mintr.org/nvs

Thanks, been there though. I'm looking for the network hashrate in particular. Can it be calculated from the difficulty?

You could add up the hashrate of all the known pools but I suspect real hash rate isn't knowable as there are private miners out there. All I could find is: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=143525.0 where they discuss this for bitcoin. I am guessing calculations would be the same as with BTC as it is SHA-256, so you might be able to estimate hashrate from difficulty that way, however there is also the POS element to take into account.

Is there any way to actually see any of these domains? Someone bought "social.coin", now how do I see what is there?

They can be reached via the emergate.net gateway, so that would be http://social.coin.emergate.net - but not sure the owner has anything there.

They can also be reached by setting your DNS to one of the openNIC dns servers ( https://www.opennicproject.org ), then you could plug in http://social.coin directly.

You could also grab the ip address from the block explorer (or emc wallet) and visit that address.

Emergate.net is the official gateway set up by emc developers. But for those ever inclined, there are instructions for setting up your own gateway at http://emercoin.com/EMCDNS_and_NVS (look for heading "Public Internet, direct gateway"). For the average user, this isn't necessary though as you can just use an existing gateway or set your computer to use openNIC DNS.

You can see some working emc domains that I use in my sig.

In my sig you can see some working examples. I haven't really explored what else is out there in the emc domain space, but personally I find them very useful. I believe the hope is that eventually there will be more ways to access them, rather than relying purely on the emergate gateway and/or OpenNIC.

So simply going to http://hzcharts.coin will not show the website?

So simply going to http://hzcharts.coin will not show the website?

Not until your DNS provider supports the emercoin domain name space (your current DNS provider is most likely your ISP). AFAIK OpenNIC is the only DNS provider currently supporting Blockchain based domains. If you set your DNS to be resolved by OpenNIC it will work as just hzcharts.coin but otherwise you'd need to use the emergate.net gateway. Personally I hope that when the world comes around to blockchain tech, ISP's will start including blockchain based domains in their DNS. But I don't know what the emc team's plans are towards wider accessibility Smiley

For the few cents it will cost you, there's not much harm in registering the domain you want. And for those who don't have time to play with the emc software then they can look at using a supporting blockchain domain registrar such as https://peername.com

This seems extremely low. A coin valued at $6,000,000 should have more like 50+ BTC volume each day.

- https://emerproxy.xyz (beta) uses OpenNIC DNS servers and can (proxy) resolve most .emc .coin .lib .bazar and .nmc domains.

Here you'll find a description of NVS (Name Value Storage) and DNS for Emercoin.
It also shows a quick comparison between EMC and NMC.

Or maybe you've mistaken it for Emeraldcoin ? Otherwise your comment doesn't make any sense and you should just crawl back into your cave like the ignorant troll that you are. Thank you!
+1
I think he just stumbled upon the news and the coin. Probably does think it is emeraldcoin just as I did. Understandable I suppose to a certain extent considering how hard it is to gain any traction in the market right now without a dedicated pumpbot. Just kind of unknown and it's functionality is as well. Perhaps some fiverr videos describing things graphically would assist.

On the graphical aid / professional video front: Stay tuned Smiley
