Honestly, I think we'll be getting to like .0018 pretty soon. Especially with a Polo add. And with a Polo add we should see price hit about where FCT is at 26

And that is just the first wave of the new year!

Have to admit that there is a lot of movement today  Grin and with it being added to the Chinese markets as well as Poloniex in the near future should push the value up to par with FCT and ETH.

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Maybe people are realizing the coin actually has real world uses other than just simple trading.

hi, simple & quick question - how to PoS with unencrypted wallet 0.3.7?

If the wallet is unencrypted, then you only need to leave it open. Coin maturity is 30 days, so it can take 30 days before they are eligible for staking. You don't need leave the wallet open if the coins aren't mature yet.
And should have no reservebalance set in the emercoin.conf, or reservebalance=0

And if the wallet is encrypted, then you also need to unlock for minting only using interface, or type in debug window or emercoind:

walletpassphrase <passphrase> <timeout> [mintonly]

i.e.

walletpassphrase <<PASSWORD>> 999999 true

ok, thank you mate, will see  Wink

Maybe people are realizing the coin actually has real world uses other than just simple trading.

so ltc need euthanasia

IMPORTANT - FORK!

There is fork happening in the EmerCoin network after block 136404.
Some clients do not receive correct block 136405, and continue staking.

Please, check your client. Run from console:

getcheckpoint

If it prints:
{
    "synccheckpoint" : "0000000000000006d2010d4a879378a448c4a12e156127d7a7753b93fccb676d",
    "height" : 136404,
    "timestamp" : "2015-11-29 17:17:16 UTC"
}

then your client has been affected by fork.

To resolve this issue, needed re-download blockchain again.
To do this:
1. stop emercoin program
2. Backup your wallet.dat (not necessary, but this is more safe)
3. Delete all files, but wallet.dat and emercoin.conf in the directory
windows: C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\EmerCoin
linix: ./emercoin
4. Restart emercoin program. Wait for ~30 minutes to reload blockchain.

We're working for investigate this issue, and will release patch soon.

Thanks you for patience.

I will have to wait for a patch. Deleting files and redownloading block index has stuck.

I am still here..

downloading blockchain is stuck on 134081 and 163997  84.17% completed from last 40mins.

WARNING: Checkpoint is too old. Wait for blockchain to download, or notify developer of the issue.

Hey jaipagare,

Deleting all files (save the wallet.dat) worked for me when I had this same issue. I believe I had to re-download and sync the blockchain twice for some reason. Leaving the client open during the day whilst I worked outside did the trick. Give it some time perhaps and rest assured that we will be here to assist you if the issue persists.

Regarding exchanges: There is a campaign in motion to work with all of the Chinese exchange operators (yes, every single one) to build up a community of support for Emercoin. This is in addition to being added to the exchanges and serves to provide them with more comfort and confidence in adding EMC to their currency pairings. You all are already doing the very best thing you can which is positive support and promotion. We do care about the price and being listed on exchanges however our focus has always been and remains on the development of the EMC currency and blockchain. It is this dedication to creating useful services and tools for humanity that has brought us to where we are today and we will continue to keep this as our main focus.

This is why we are very happy to see you all taking an interest in Emercoin. These services have applications across many different business and personal uses and we encourage everyone to try them out. Lastly, stick around in this thread over the next week as I will have some community-based news that will be of interest to many of you who have been patiently waiting to get involved at some level.

solo mining better now that I figured out the correct info that is not on emercoin.com

server=1
daemon=1
listen=1
rpcuser=emercoinrpc
rpcpassword=run emercoind once and copy/paste password here
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=8344
port6661
reservebalance=0

Is there something that should be improved or updated at at http://emercoin.com/MINING_GUIDE ? It's been a long time since I did any mining, and I used google to translate from the original guide. May be good if someone can suggest improvements for this document.

Only if you think it could be improved. Look at it from the view of someone that knows the basics and detail the guides with more exact information and check it over. Did you follow the guides as written on the site? Does it work for you? For me I need exact copy/paste kind of information for guides like that but that's me (enough technical skill to break things but not enough to know what other assume I know) Wink

Any chance there are plans to support batched RPC commands? Would love to run this coin on a uNOMP pool instance but currently this is a limitation.

I am keen on seeing the team give you an answer to this at least. Also I know they are extremely busy. So I'm wondering if you know what's involved in making the change to the code to support batched RPC? Or if someone else reading this is capable of making the appropriate pull request on github -  it may expedite the addition of this or other features.

Another idea: Maybe the dev team could set up (or give their blessing for) a fund for sponsoring code contributions which align with their roadmap. I am sure many in the emc community would be glad to contribute to such a fund but I think it is up to the devs to set it up, or to let us know if they are open to the community doing so.

Maybe it's as simple as setting up a website where people can propose new features and fund them, and developers can take on tasks, to earn the donated funds if their code change is accepted - something like https://tip4commit.com/ and http://peer4commit.com/ ?

Perhaps KarmaShark or Fixx may know the team's thoughts on how and if they want to encourage code contributors in future?

I will get with our dev team to see what is required to make this work. Thanks for the response.

Yeah I downloaded the wallet and got a small pile of coins but can't tell if i am even staking.

Coin maturity is 30 days. i.e. coins must sit untouched at the EMC address for 30 days before being eligible for staking. If they have then the coins should attempt to stake (so long as the wallet is unlocked and you have not set a "reservebalance" in the .config)

Some coins do show an indicator when the wallet is attempting to stake. I guess this is a potential addition that could be made. But also undesirable - because it incentivizes people to shut down their node unless they are staking at that very moment. In the long term, it's best to leave the wallet running 24/7. As long as the coins were sitting in the address for > 30 days, you will be staking.

For Minting PoS:

Is there any website on the internet?
Where I see a PoS Minting calculator?

No pain, no gain.
