These type of projects never cease to amaze me. The innovation of some of these, such as EMC that focus on true p2p/decentralized nature, are grossly underrated. The amount of work put into this project from then to now, is probably extreme, but yet, someone can take a scrypt coin, change a few words in the source, and distribute it as a new 'innovative' currency and more people will mine it and use it for a short period, going nuts over what 'might' become of it. It is sad really. The ones who put the most work into something truly amazing always get the brunt end, when it should be the other way around...
In any case, I am following this platform. Nice work developers.
Mistercoin-
Thank you for your kind words! Yes, we really do not have enough experience in the propaganda, in PR. If you have an idea, tell me the way, please! Well, tomorrow morning I'll start a small campaign to get more recognition for this platform. (I say platform over coin, simply because it can fill many roles besides buying and selling, as clearly demonstrated thus far.) I have a nice bit of resources at my disposal that are not being put to any good use at the moment, so I would be happy to help get a bit more recognition for this. I will drop you a message tomorrow and keep you updated. Also, if there is any type of service you need that you don't have yet (Faucets, pools, generators, IRC bots, tip bots, etc, etc) you can PM me and let me know. I would be more than happy to help on that front as well. Cheers, Mistercoin- @Mistercoin I am involved in a few EMC projects and was wondering if you might be interested in maybe some collaboration if anything as a check balance system, fact checking, in-depth analysis or anything for that matter as I want to make sure that the final products that fall under my responsibility are of the upmost top quality and so that I am not taking up so much of the CEO or CTO's time as someone like yourself could provide mid level critique and feedback at the least which would be invaluable to me coming from a EMC Community member. I just bombed out on the Bitfilm Festival and I do not want to taint anything further regarding EMC. I believe that EmerCoin could be one of the most important Crypto Developments with full use including services of the EMC Blockchain and advancement of real current Blockchain Technologies of this era, unlike others that boast the Blockchain Technology aspect of other CryptoCurrency projects that claim to be about Blockchain technology while not having the actual technologies in place other than in theory or on paper and are primarily focused on the coin to token of value end currently and not actually the technologies built on the Blockains that those tokens of value will be eventually used to feed. Here at EMC I believe the Core Dev Team has taken the lead in Crypto specifically in providing those services and uses today which will be fueled by the ever growing in terms of value EMC Coins. I believe that to be impressive and others I know agree, which makes this the place to be right now thats for sure. PM me if interested or to provide feedback as I will always make myself available here, by email or Skype to you or anyone that is part of the EmerCoin Team and Community. Best, ~JackLondon Hi, @JackLondon I just post "Final Cut Pro X 10.2 for MAC OS X" and "Motion5.2 for MAC OS X" to you, you should download them. IMPORTANT - FORK!
There is fork happening in the EmerCoin network after block 136404. Some clients do not receive correct block 136405, and continue staking.
Please, check your client. Run from console:
getcheckpoint
If it prints: { "synccheckpoint" : "0000000000000006d2010d4a879378a448c4a12e156127d7a7753b93fccb676d", "height" : 136404, "timestamp" : "2015-11-29 17:17:16 UTC" }
then your client has been affected by fork.
To resolve this issue, needed re-download blockchain again. To do this: 1. stop emercoin program 2. Backup your wallet.dat (not necessary, but this is more safe) 3. Delete all files, but wallet.dat and emercoin.conf in the directory windows: C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\EmerCoin linix: ./emercoin 4. Restart emercoin program. Wait for ~30 minutes to reload blockchain.
We're working for investigate this issue, and will release patch soon.
Thanks you for patience.

Temporary add to emercoin.conf: connect=104.238.236.163
And again refresh blockchain (delete all files, but wallet.dat and emercoin.conf).
By this way, you will receive blockchain from the pool - trusted source.

No, this is another issue. And seems like deliberate attack. Peercoin also particularly vulnerable for this issue. We do not wish share details right now, for avoid attack on peercoin or another peercoin-based cryptos, like NVC. However, we figured out issue, and working on security patch, will be available today or tomorrow.

@KhalDrago talk what you want but some of the features here are really innovative and different. Although i dont have any EMC right now i've mined over 10k EMC sold for a good amount of BTC and am using two of the many services they offer emcssh, emcdns. ive read rumors about EMC and their main exchange (livecoin.net) but all in all i've made some profit. POS difficulty is ridiculous would take over 45 days to POS mint a block on average for me. Temporary add to emercoin.conf: connect=104.238.236.163
And again refresh blockchain (delete all files, but wallet.dat and emercoin.conf).

Then place the file emercoin.conf in the appropriate directory. for linux should be place in /$home/.emercoin/ for windows i dont know something like C:\User\Documents and Settings\I dont know fuck that USE LINUX/UNIX instead.

It was attack on the EmerCoin blockchain, based on a vulnerability in the previous version of PPC protocol, related to altering some signatures. The attack has been performed months before the fork date, when the attacker submitted "tainted blocks". The rest of the clients on the network download those blocks from peers, and did notice the difference. This is how a "tainted blockchain" can infect a large number of network participants. Thankfully, there are no financial consequences of the fork itself, the only inconvenience being that some customers were in a "deadlock" state and could not go to the main blockchain branch. Re-downloading the blockchain from a trusted source has resolved this issue. However, to ensure this issue is completely resolved for future releases, we have implemented a fix which contains new rules for the signature generation. This is bundled into our latest wallet software release. These rules are incompatible with the current existing ones, and will be activated Thursday, 03-Dec-15 00:00:00 UTC. Thus, it is mandatory to upgrade your EmerCoin wallet before Thursday, 03-Dec-15 00:00:00 UTC.Otherwise, you will be trapped into this "deadlock" state once again - approximately 1 month after Dec, 3, 2015. If you in the deadlock state right now - you needed delete and re-download the EmerCoin blockchain. I.e. delete all files except wallet.dat and emercoin.conf. If you happen to be on the on correct blockchain branch - just update the program itself. Sources: Download: http://sourceforge.net/projects/emercoin/files/0.3.6/https://github.com/EvgenijM86/emercoin/Thank you for your patience while we address this issue and do not forget to save wallet.dat! UPD: MAC-version is available, too.

This is not planned hardfork, this is security patch. Thus, must be applied ASAP.
Moreover, if some user will not install new wallet right now - he has additional time ~1 month for install. But, if so, he will needed re-fetch blockchain, even he in the right branch right now.

IMPORTANT: Please, check your wallet, by run command getinfo from console.
If you installed a new wallet today (1 day before rule changes), there is can be printed the error message:
warning: blockchain redownload approaching or past v0.3.5 upgrade deadline.
If so, you needed to re-download blockchain ASAP. This is extremely important on a server, where is running NVS-based services like emcssh/emcssl/emcdns/etc.
