Is there any sort of formula to calculate the approximate time to mint a PoS block? Feeling like I have no luck over here  Roll Eyes
Yeah I downloaded the wallet and got a small pile of coins but can't tell if i am even staking.

Coin maturity is 30 days. i.e. coins must sit untouched at the EMC address for 30 days before being eligible for staking. If they have then the coins should attempt to stake (so long as the wallet is unlocked and you have not set a "reservebalance" in the .config)

Oh I know that, coin maturity or staking is not the problem here. It looks like I've been staking, perhaps I'm just luckless so far  Sad

same here, unlucky or something is wrong, im minting with coins from 2014, is the pos diff that high?

edit: i tried calculating with http://poscalculator.peercointalk.org/  (@craslovell maybe this is something you were looking for?)
and entering emercoins diff (34.2) , it says i should have 14.660504% chance to mint a block in 24 hrs and 99.266074% in 30 days, so maybe i have to be more patient

Block explorer shows the PoS diff at 34.25... Maybe whales are just killing us with their holdings.

Edit: just read your edit. I suppose that makes sense. Perhaps patience is key. I was thinking I'd see at least some sort of small block to this point though.

For Minting PoS:

Is there any website on the internet?
Where I see a PoS Minting calculator?

Please visit https://emercoin.mintr.org/

Including blokchain explore, TX, Address, NVS and online wallet.

https://emcblock.info also use the same data, but there is no SSL and SSL will be Okey soon.

You can register / Edit / Delete your own Name->Value Key Pair (NVS) in your online wallet.

You can pos mining using ur own wallet
Follow those steps ( i am on windows):
1. Password protect ur wallaet
2. On the bottom right, press the lock icon.
3. Select unlock for block mining only.

And that's it.

You can find a minting calculator on https://emercoin.mintr.org too.
Just provide the address which holds your coins e.g. https://emercoin.mintr.org/address/EZRcD6ZfGJLaYSkKwZYRkrhVGxk1mimG93 and click on the small leaf icon on the top (there will be four buttons next to the address, it's the third one Wink ).
You will then receive a list of all coins of this address and the minting chance within the next 24h, including the possible reward.
Please be aware: The calculation might take some time if the address holds lots of coins ("gold sand"). Max. execution time of the script is 60 seconds.

If you find this useful.
I'll be happy about all donations: EZRcD6ZfGJLaYSkKwZYRkrhVGxk1mimG93  Smiley

> Any idea why when I turn PoS minting on, my wallet goes out of sync after a little while?
> I'm running 0.3.7, it will show that the current correct number of blocks was downloaded,
> but behave as if I'm about 16k blocks behind, showing a total block number that hasn't even been reached yet.

> It does not do this is PoS minting is not activated.

Another customer already reported about this strange issue. We reviewed the code, but did not found any problem source.
We asked him to provide copy of glitched blockchain, but he answered: "I rebooted computed, and problem is gone",
and did not provide blockchain. He has Windows OS, wallet 0.3.7.

Currently we assume, there is some glitch over network, when some orphan block considered as "high level".
But, we unable to get more details.

What we recommend:
1. run repairwallet command in the your wallet.
2. reboot machine.
3. If problem still persist - please create archive, contains blockchain copy (without wallet.dat), and deposit to any file exchange service. Thereafter, notify team@emercoin.com. We'll get archive, and try investigate the issue.

FYI: Having exact same problem with 0.3.7  Repair does not seem to correct it. When I have some time, I'll get the files to you...

Please help.

I kept my wallet running for 4 continuous days and it hasn't synched yet.

Back up your wallet.dat. uninstall the wallet via control panel. Delete anything that says emercoin from both the "Program Files" and "appdata" directories. Reboot, do a clean install of the wallet, put your wallet file back in place and see if that works. I'm assuming you are running Windows here.

@gotthemeaning, I'm glad it worked for you  Cheesy

Seems like some people are dumping out. Not sure if it's whales or people who are just paranoid. If you want to drive the price lower, it just means more EMC for me and everyone else  Grin

I see no reason why EMC can't achieve dollar parity in 2016. The tools and capabilities are there for it to succeed. I think some people are just freaked out at the fact it doesn't get the same marketing and social media push that some other coins do. Just because it isn't blowing up in conversation every minute of the day doesn't mean it's not going places.

No im not a whale im just a guy that like most of you does research and picks coins that look like they have a future .. The difference is i dont get married to a coin defending it till it hits ZERO.. So glad i sold .. I bought at above 20K and saw no forward progress.. So many justify why a coin is loosing value blaming on Whales dumping and saying " so more coins for me cheaper" really dont get emotional .. if a coin is loosing traction.. Sell even at a slight loss.. There were many time where i bought a coin at say 38K it dropped to 10K .. what did i do.. In that case i had faith in the coins long term goals so i bought at 10K giving me double the coins eventually selling at 22K for a NO LOSS ..NO GAIN .. But this one i dont see any future value.. Take a hard unbiased look .. dont defend a coin just cuz you own it..

I haven't invested many resources in mining it, so I'm not too worried. The coin is still up over where it was two months ago in price.. Also, could you consider the possibility that not everyone is mining or purchasing coins for the sole purpose of trade/profit? Yes profiting is nice, and this will come naturally with usability and function, which is what I see in Emercoin. Why do you see no potential? Is it because there are a couple fat wallets out there?

Find me a single cryptocurrency (with a reasonable market cap and active nodes) that does NOT have fat wallets hiding in the shadows.
