The first character .. is that lowercase L, a number 1, or an uppercase letter i?     The second, a zero (0) or an uppercase letter o?
the first letter is "I"... the letter eye

the second letter isnt a letter it is a number, the number zero.

Yeah, I just figured it out myself; it is a zero.   eye-zero-coin.   iØcoin?   Eh,  I would have preferred scamcoin or slackcoin.

Having a transparent amount of coins purely to bootstrap adoption is key as well as bounties that late adopters can still claim, maybe by a hardcoded bounty royalty where extra coins are generated to be awarded over the life of the currency.

Who should pay the bounties if no coins are premined? ;-)

Thats where the royalty comes in Smiley

Is it too late to rename the coin? I0coin has ambiguous pronunciation and ambiguous spelling. It will be really hard to take off if it keeps this name. One thing going for ixcoin is that it had none of these problems.

It's probably too late, but I thought I'd throw it out there. Since you decided to have the address start with a j, how about something like "jitcoin"?

Yes. Someone could buy iocoin.com and host a wallet stealer there  Cool

I've fired up a test bitparking pool for i0coin. It's at http://i0pool.bitparking.com and works like the existing namecoin and ixcoin pools. I'll switch to the release i0coind when it's available. All coins will be discarded when the new chain officially starts.

In the doc/ Folder, you find a File "build-msw.txt", read it.
Its almost 100% correct, only at the last steps, replace "bit" with "i0".
I spent hours compiling the damm Dependencies...
Also, openssl may trigger a Virus Warning.

Wait, we don't need the I0coin client to participate in the pool, do we?

Nope, just point your regular miner at the i0guild pool 5 minutes before the start. It's nice and simple.

You just start mining beforehand, and add a wallet once you've downloaded the client.  Or you can wait for an exchange to open up and set your wallet to the exchange address for direct withdrawals (be careful about temporary addresses though).
