The mighty LOT has fallen this far?  Grin
Still holding a few mil LOT and I lost a few BTC because of this ridiculous falling.
I guess maybe two reasons for this:
1. mrlotto is busy dumping his premine coins
2. multipool is an amazing beast. they killed every new promising coin.

I have learned my lesson through the 3 new stars DOGE, EAC and LOT. Losing a few BTCs is very bitter but life is always that cruel. Live with it and fight it, or go to die Grin

Just my 2 cents.

I think they will jump to new highs, but it can take weeks. The reason is every easy. When the blocks are split into 2 then the multipool will not earn enough money when they mine DOGE or LOT, so they will walk away from those coins. Look at EAC, they never dropped hard, also it is very difficult to put a price on EAC, it is trading on coinedup, a lot of gaps in ask and bid. So ones the block halvering happens i don't think DOGE and LOT will fall anymore and real people will buy those guys and they will be able to support any drops

Yeah. I'm still holding it. Of course I accept that LOT maybe never rises back again. But who knows. Wink
Anyway it is just kind of depressing when looking at your cryptsy balance estimates and it reduces every day Grin

Can someone point me to some resources to find out more about what forking is, how it impacts stuff and such?
Random googleing didn't help much :/

basicly its creating a new coin (in this case with changed peramaters) . If that happens, transactions between old client and new client wont communicate, and the network would be on 2 different forks.

So this is  the reason why we cant just make bitcoin better, and instead have to make new coins.

Personally I dont see any issues with the coin,  or any reason to destroy the coin, so will be staying on the original fork.

I suggest those who want to fork the code do so, and release it under a different name.

20% mined already on original fork. We need to halve the block rewards!

I think we all need to remember that coins can go through slumps. I held WDC from 0.00015 to 0.00002 it really sucked but I continued to hold and look where WDC is now?

If we make it through this. I think LOT has a very bright future. There has already been a lot of games added and we are just starting.

WDC forked and it didn't destroy the coin or create a secondary version. Everyone switched to the new fork and the old one is now gone. We can fork it if we want but we need to be unified if we are split it will hurt the coin.

If I read this right, if we fork I lose all my coins now?

OK, guys - nobody's talking about forking, I simply asked for the explanation, thanks for that.
Don't be negative. Let me fix the situation :p

Can a block reward amount be adjusted without fork? Also, the special blocks, with higher payouts, could those values be modified?
Whoever knows this, pls, explain . it's important Smiley

No, because the coins algorithm needs to be changed - so you need to fork the blockchain. That indeed doesn't mean you will lose your coins but every transaction made on the OLD blockchain will get lost/resetted.
That's why it's important to update your wallet.

If lottocoin was forked.it would haunt it and people would stay clear from it. All current coins would be unusable and a lot of people would be pissed off with having wasted mining hours and investors would be out of pocket.

The only way that it would work if there was a premine done to the current value of coins and if you are able to prove you own the coins on old fork you could be re compensated with the said amount from the devas for the new fork

Or are coins safe?

OK; now either that means that with wallet upgrade there is no problem, or I got completely lost.
I hope it's the first one Cheesy
Anyway, if the technology allows it; here's my two LOT's:

Change this;

Quote
- Initially random 256 - 65.536 (256*256) coins per block
- Hourly, semi-daily and daily superblocks:
- Hourly lotto 131.072 coins per block
- Semi-daily lotto 262.144 coins per block
- Daily lotto 1.048.576 coins per block

To this:

Quote
- Initially random 256 - 16.384 (256*64) coins per block
- Hourly, semi-daily and daily superblocks:
- Hourly lotto 1.048.576 coins per block
- Semi-daily lotto 262144 coins per block
- Daily lotto 4.194.304 coins per block

If it can be made any way without compromising things, or on a doable project, here's the catch:

Way smaller rewards ranging from 256 to max of 16k, which is not a lot of LOT Wink
But for mining, perfect. And ok, in my idea here, semi-daily is taken away, but look at the rest:
1mil each hour for the lotto and mega 4 mil once per day. It's lot even now.

Maybe the prizes could even be bigger who knows, but it will reduce raw Mh/s effect from multipools to a some degree, will show way awesome in far future: (mining 10k lot / day  - and winning a daily jackpot??) and would affect market to only some degree. Actually, it can be calculated.

DISCLAIMER
This is NOT any type of call, initiative or suggestion to make a fork. I was kinda hoping it can go without, by some solution for the block chain.
Cheers

Gentlemen:

Today DEDICATEDPOOL.COM was hit with many DDoS attacks.  All of them were redirected except for the last one.

Two minutes after the DDoS was executed, we started to respond putting emergency policies in place and getting things back up as soon as possible.  We were down for about one hour while we reconfigured the network, and put more protections in place to stop such an attack from happening again in the future.

We now have also added to our DDoS protection, Cloudflare, which stops flood attacks and the likes even before they hit the switches.

I urge you to reconnect back to dedicated pool and continue mining with us.  I appologize for the downtime, but we are back after only one hour and we are stronger than before.  You can't keep us down!

Overall I very happy with the response to the DDoS.  The plans were put in to place immediately and they were executed in textbook fashion to defeat the attack and bring services back up as soon as possible.

Thanks!
