I am against namecalling, but with no evidence to back this up this smells like FUD

Cow pools are autoselling. Its crashing the price. Once they stop it will be back up. Sell if you wish to, your loss

Why would they stop? Unfortunately LOT is currently the most profitable Alt to mine, or at least the most profitable with any decent exchange volume, so it's likely to be stuck in the multi-pool yoyo for a long time. Pools come in, drive up difficulty, leave, dump coins, and leave everyone else holding the bag until the difficulty drops back down. Then rinse and repeat.

Alt coin devs really need to figure out a self-defense mechanism for this. It's destroying many Alts that would otherwise have promising outlooks as it prevents natural price discovery mechanisms from functioning normally. There's no point trying to explain to the pools or the mindless drones who use them that they're killing the golden goose, so the only option is to destroy their profitability.

Best solution would be to get a high(er) constant hash rate. Then the cowpools wouldn't have a chance.

To achieve this we need more marketing, more services and so on.

That's quite a tall order when MiddleCoin alone has approximately 9GH/s to throw around. That's close to 10% of the LTC network hash rate, and more than the entire WDC network hash rate, nevermind more nichy Alts.

The only thing that I can think of is for algorythms to have a) rapid block target times with difficulty adjustment per block and b) no cap on the difficulty readjustment either up or down. That creates its own set of problems though. I'm not sure what the answer is, but something has to give. With the exception of LTC, just MiddleCoin could execute a 51% attack on virtually any Alt with impunity. Think about the implications of that.

I almost spit up my coffee when I saw the price on cryptsy just now. The one bright side from all this is that the mountain of sell orders that were keeping the price down earlier are getting eaten up quickly as people panic and dump low. The only reason the price is so low is because people are stupid and keep selling low the second nobody is buying for 5 minutes which just drives the price down more. Look at the volume, lots of people gobbling up them coins up. Price is already rebounding, up to 23 from 19 15 minutes ago. At this point your best bet is to just hold.

I've been made a mod at the lottocoin subreddit and am going to be sprucing it up a bit to make it look nicer/ more user friendly
