For every market, there are hidden 'market movers' that control the pricing and market flow at their own will. Bitcoin is no exception, given that exchanges aren't highly regulated and you can create as many accounts as you like provided that you pass the verification on the exchange. These whales are responsible for several market movements that happen 'all of a sudden' such as sudden rise or huge fake crashes. They are around and lingering, and also controlling the markets with their stringed toys.

That's a very interesting question....In any  market be it in Stock market or Crypto currency market  WHALES are always behind the scene of the trading market, we really have no back and white evidence that a WHALES is manipulating the price market value of one coin. It's either they want to protect their investment or just want to protect their profits. Remember that in every investment has the same amount they put in in the market, and it is huge...

Yep, it has always been like that, since day 1. and we have nothing to discuss about this, because it has always been the same. Just take in consideration this; it went from $8000 to $20,000, and then, it dropped to $5,700..

based on what I'm searching for, they are a group that seeks opportunities by utilizing bad news, they will make it as if it will be fatal so as to make panic so that "Panic Sell" happens, and when the panic has begun to subside, they will again buy the Bitcoin at a very cheap price to re-raise the market price.
and right, they are responsible for the price in the market...

Many whales manipulates the market, some actually try to do it and think they can manipulate though they are themselves manipulated. But for long term  prices not daily ones I don't think there is big manipulation.

That is true it means their is probability that in this world cryptocurrencies will run all over the world it is because of the functions that coordinates by the bitcoiner and the usage of the bitcoin as cash and as way of payment in different areas of gaining and recognizing new ideas.

Yes, I think whales are always been there in the beginning of crypto those are the big investors ad speculators in this field , they live in nvesting their money in the market, also i think that they are manipulating the price in the market by dumping and raising its value.

Whales have a lot resources to move market. Market drop in last several months maybe because whales manipulating market, but if peoples not panic with negative news, i think whales movement give little effect. I am believe market drop because peoples panic and make a bad move in market, whales will take this oppotunity to make profits in the future

I couldn't agree more and was just having this same conversation with someone yesterday. These lulls create a nice little opportunity for the "whales" to buy, and it's pretty much the only control they have.

Just imagine how many people panic sell whenever price goes down. So, I think whales have a great impact on cryptocurrency price.

Hi guys ,
Do you think the whales are manipulating the markets ?? Has any one noticed that the current bull run that has been on for the last few weeks comes to a halt every time it reaches the 10 k mark and slides down . My theory is that whales sell at 10k and then create fud so market slides down only to buy back and pump . What do you think ?

Bitcoin Whales are individuals or group of people who hold vast quantities of bitcoin and can sometimes sway the market towards their preferential price.
There are many trading maneuver's whales use to profit like using a trading tactic commonly called the rinse and repeat cycle. The rinse trade is used in many types of market and can be effective if timed correctly and very profitable if you are a bitcoin whale, The trader with a lot of holdings start selling bitcoins lower than the market rate which at times can cause a panic sell of by small time traders. The trick is the whale sold just below the current market value and just enough to watch panic ensue. Then the whale waits and watches the panic selling takes place until the bitcoin price reaches a new low. At this point the whale scoop up way more bitcoins than they first started with and after the rinse they usually repeat this type of trade often.

Yes a sort of manipulation will going to happen in bitcoin market price movement. As we all know that these big whales or investors having a good amount of investments could relatively make a market price to move if they are going to sell their holdings or buy some crypto. Those investments can have a percentage on the increase that is visible to how crypto market price moves in every 30 mins. You can check to coinmarketcap.com and see how market price moves as it is being updated.

Yes these investors had a huge investment on crypto and I will agree on some members here that if those investors will going to sell their holdings probably it can be felt since there will be a huge market price fall down. It will be noticeable for that if they will sell relatively high amount of holdings.

I think Whales are always been there since the beginning of crypto, not that they are manipulating but they done so much for the crypto sphere, the know the right thing to do to preserve crypto I guess.

They are present in every market and you can't change that. The only thing you can do is research and follow their actions.

I'm sure you are not the only whale that is manipulating the market but also the sharks that are manipulating the market, you can see that bitcoin prices are constantly fluctuating in huge amplitudes and are hard to predict. At the moment, the market is bearish in the long term and the whales are pulling bitcoin to get a discharge card. Therefore, I think that at this time you should not invest long term in bitcoin and should only invest in short-term trading day to be able to minimize the risk.

Many people beleive this is true. In general people like conspiracy theories and beleive in them.
I think this is not completely untrue  but on the other side the influence of whales is not that big and they can't manipulate the market in the way that they completely control the price.
I think they can intiate some movements in.coordinate activities but I still beleive that Bitcoin remains independent.

Market manipulation in the market was there from the start, the Whales was been participating in the huge investment for specific coin. But, all of this speculation about the market manipulation remain as haft truth for simple reason we don't know the real issue on this matter.

Very true indeed, this is called coordinated FUD, they spread negative news and spread panic amongst mostly noobs that sell, besides that they have millions and billions to dump on people, its very easy, they spread FUD, dump a few hundred million dollars worth of btc, price falls, noobs get emotional and sell their coins, btc falls deeper, they than spread more FUD, and in that time they buy, if they have bought enough they spread bullish news, and so on and so on, this is what you call coordinated fud.

I'm sure there are manipulations. The powerful of this world give impetus to the movement, but the crowd picks it up and carries it with the flow. Bankers are always in the black, because they control the market.

Yes, they are manipulating the market no doubts about that. That's why whales investors never loose in this business, instead always win in trading.

they know what they are going to do when to set the sell wall or buy wall, where other traders like us can afford to do what they can do.

Yeah I think this is possible, some of the "BIG WHALES" control the price of altcoins, they can easy to dump or pump the market. They are business man they need profit whatever happen. I think we need to ride their tactics.
