So they are not the same person for sure Smiley
The first prototype with one direction of both heatsinks do not have enough surface for the top.
So we had to switch, sorry Gator
Here is some more squeezed GH/s

OMG when will you stop adding GH?  Cool

I always thought these heatsinks were too low for the 4500rpm fans. They have a lot of static pressure.
TALLER HEATSINKS = LOWER STATIC PRESSURE = GET MORE COOLING = MORE GH!

You are a profit my friend.
Will continue in the morning.
As much as I love the price of the 35x5 profile
We are getting 70 mm tall one tomorrow for the bottom heatsink

Yes in fact it is. So to give you a clue as far as i know two miners with extreme OC do crash 850 W PSU rated about 73 A on 12 V
It turns out that there are peaks with 35Amps+ per board in order to crash PSU or PSU is just crappy.
I will have my PSU today 55Amps on 12V for a single miner and give it a shot i guess it will not crash with just one miner
As i predicted some time ago they eat power for sure. I will try to find power meter and give yo exact numbers But if you want 250GH+ make sure you can provide - peak power 40Amps for a board. Carefully chosen PSU 650W-700W should be fine. The bottom line will be 600W but i am not risking just to save a couple of bugs
i am talking about 12V at the wall add between 10-20 % on top EU/US (220V/110V) PSU efficiency and so on
Have in mind that marto's chips are samples from zefir as far as i know and there is a rumor that later they will re page the chips with thick wires inside which will improve efficiency

I do not care about paste. What i care is cgminer to work Wink
Apart of the jokes i have asked about it and it is non conductive one. I am not HW expert but as long it is no conductive clearing it will make the board look pretty and nothing more

Please use high speed fans on these devices. I have put my miners in the basement so the noise does not bother me, but I will need them to run cool and fast in the summer (I do not know how hot the basement is going to get).

Also, I'd rather get my miner as soon as possible than wait for the fans or finger guards or whatever (I can buy those items in my local electronics store).

Some more speed updates as promised Grin

I got it 250GH stable!!! Some things to note:

cgminer clock is set to 250. To find out actual ASIC clock you have to multiply by 4x250 = 1000. In theory I have 8 chips , 32 cores each 1000 clock which equals to 8*32*1000=256000 or 256 GH. You will ask where are my 6 GH. So bad news I got 5 dead cores/engines which does not bother me much. That are the chips received from the factory and I can not do much about it.
./cgminer-api stats | grep engines
   [Chip1 Engines] => 32
   [Chip2 Engines] => 29
   [Chip3 Engines] => 32
   [Chip4 Engines] => 32
   [Chip5 Engines] => 31
   [Chip6 Engines] => 32
   [Chip7 Engines] => 31
   [Chip8 Engines] => 32

So I should be getting in theory 251 GH so basically I am there!!

More good news – the max clock rate should be 275*4 = 1100. I am not feeling like I will push it to the limits but I can tell you that all of you shall be getting around 260 GH. Have in mind cooling is very important. I am lucky because it is winter now and my room temp is around 10C. I know that up to 20-22 C is ok.
More Updates to come tplink and cgminer options

Okay Ioshia's gave us some clues on power here, about 35-40A for 240-260GH, okay so that works out as...

240GH @ 35A x 12V = 420W
250GH @ 40A x 12V = 480W

Assuming that's right and it's 5A for every 10GH going forward from this point...

280GH @ 55A x 12V = 660W!

When I get my hands on one I'll stick a power meter over it and post more accurate numbers.

Buuuut.... it sounds far away from 1GH/1W and so it doesn't look like I'll be selling my 6x Bitfury Hex16B's (270GH/415W) just yet!

As for power Ioshia's rough numbers are about 36-40A for 240-260GH

36A x 12V = 432W
40A x 12V = 480W

Soooo.... it don't look like I'll be selling my 6x Bitfury Hex16B's = 270GH/415W just yet!
Do not even think about it. There is nothing better in terms of power that i have touched Wink

The first prototype with one direction of both heatsinks do not have enough surface for the top.
So we had to switch, sorry Gator

Another reason for aligning the heatsinks in the same direction, not just that I like it that way, data centers who will want to run them in 4U rack cases would also need it that way too. They blow air in one side of the case and out the other side.

True, But this works only in case. In open air as boards are it is useless. In the case you can force air to flow.
For the data centers i am sure that they will approach marto and he will do as requested Wink

A few question for Loshia and Marto:
#1 Its possible to ship it out on 10. feb?
#2 Can you say me a configuration for cgminer? Is there something like this: --hexminer8-options x,x,x ?

Thanks!
