The diference is comming from the diference in chips. We do not favor any body in terms of boards performance. What we do is to check on a test software how many engines are working. If there are more than 20 dead engines on a board it is stoped and returned for repair. Also if there is a single chip with less than 25 engines we stop it again
Thanks for the reply marto74 Apologies if I came across as accusing you of something. Your customer service have been top notch. But I do think that seller is pushing the marketing boundaries when selling HEX8A1 gear as 270GH. Further, is seem he made or it reads like he got a better deal on h/w performance. Anyhows, not your problem. On another matter, any plans on 40nm Hammer ASIC from Spondoolies-Tech or their 28nm RockerBox ASIC?? Cheers, QG

Hi everybody .
now its the sadly Day for me, cause my Hex8 - 130 dont wont to hash anymore. Whats happend ? Nothing. At the Morning i looked at the Miner and everything was OK. Later on it shows no Hashrate anymore. Ok, Server or other Things down.
BUT !
it always Shows 0,800 V ( settings = 240/900 till start )
Reboot Raspi , PSU Change , Cable Change , disconnected 100 Times. Then start over to normal Windows PC . Hex Miner Programm starts the same when i get this Board. No other Things changed. 100 Times changed differnet Settings , HW Find and up
But no Hashes anymore.
Power LEd = on , USB LED = ON 2 LEDS green Chips Cold, Fans OK
Any Hints ?
Or its going to be RMA ?

What is your voltage and clock? Try it with 230/970 For some reason it refuses to start when voltage is low. You can go up to 1050 mv no problems do not be afraid And use tplink or Linux if you can. If you insists on windows reinstall USB driver

so Hi Order from Technobit no problems, shipped as stated in invoice, brilliant, (QLDNIPFTR)(thanks) at moment i have tested boards separately, working to +/- 130gh/s.(with voltage adjustments) so geart so far. I do have some questions, Now I am new to this size of hashing board only having dealt with USB stick miner so please can some one tell me what these settings represent in this configuration file, cgminer.conf "hexminer8-set-diff-to-one" : "0", "hexminer8-chip-mask" : "255", ( is this always 255?) "hexminer8-voltage" : "1000", "hexminer8-options" : "4:260", {what is this? 4=? 260=?) at the moment i have my volatage at 880, options 4:230 i get some heat in 12v PSU line, higher settings get more heat/cut out get + PSU is 230v, 300w (DC max out +12v, 9A) I have two boards running off this PSU, had them working for about 5 hours at +/-114 avg before going to bed sleep, did not have confidence to leave running in case of over heating. any help would be appricated concerning overheat in 12V line. since then PSu has overheated as well as power lines. Also , why are there two pin power inputs on one bard, should both be used or just one. also does it matter if the power in put is+12v line or -12v line. what sort of power should I be using on 130 board. thanks.

Wooooooooo. Your PSU is too small. HEX8A1 130Gh/s will require at least 17 A on 12V rail with setting 4:260 - 1000 HEX8A1 260Gh/s will require at least 35 A on 12V rail with setting 4:260 - 1000 And you run 2 Unit on that PSU? A few question for Loshia and Marto: #1 Its possible to ship it out on 10. feb? #2 Can you say me a configuration for cgminer? Is there something like this: --hexminer8-options x,x,x ?
Thanks!
First question is for marto about second one: --hexminer8-set-diff-to-one 1 --hexminer8-chip-mask 255 --hexminer8-voltage 955 --hexminer8-options 8:240 One by one --hexminer8-set-diff-to-one 1/0 the diff when set to 1 like mine - am testing it now brings a lot pressure between UB-HOST and PIC/ASIC communication Coin crafts can filter their response based on difficulty configured. When you set to one you got all nonces match diff 1 which has to be filtered and not send to the pool amusing you mine at diff greater than one. The only real advantage setting it to one is the cgminer 5 secs stats not moving up/down like crazy and average stats are settling down more quickly. Assume that you mine at diff 128. Cgminer sets it individually for each work passed to asic so it stays in sync with your pool always. Even if it is 1! When you set it to zero - ASIC send to the pic only nonces matching the diff 128 and back to host so you have about 128 times less data transfer, and cgminer shorts the time for submitting the nonce not checking against pool diff if it is a HW and all nasty stuff inside. the only disadvantage is that each nonce is counted not as one like before but as work difficulty itself which causes the stats variation. I suggest to use --hexminer8-set-diff-to-one 0 and configure your worker to mine at some constant higher difficulty. for instance when btcguild changes difficulty some old work may become stale oldddiff even though it is valid. In general if you happen to be in between two pools difficulties and your pool changing it up and down frequently you can have higher pool reject ratio - not good --hexminer8-chip-mask 255 - this was for development you can enable/disable chips based on binary mask bin 11111111 - 255 dec all chips enabled. Obviously zero is not a good choice here --hexminer8-voltage 955 the core voltage in milivolts. Do not go above one volt 1000 or do it on your risk --hexminer8-options 8:240 8 is chip count - used for some internal usb timing calculations , 240 is the frequency. The actual chip frequency is multiplied by four so 240 means 880 actually. the maximum value as far as know is 275. But try to stay below 260 in general And finally use --quiet when you have seen enough of course

Hi thanks for replies and info, it helps.
so on 130 unit there are 4 chips?
also why are there two 6 pin PCI-e and what are the terminals ?
what info have you based power (12v 17amp) on?
I would like to ask Marto what sort of power supply he would use please?
Yes (lol) i have run two 130 boards on the 300w PSU conected like something out of film adaption of Jules Vern novel. one PSU is not working now (over heated) in an other 12v line wire began to melt at hexminer voltage 1000. I got a few of these 300w PSU for cheap price (10 euro each), yes u get what u pay for some times.
but it has meant I did not get chance to break more expensive PSU ( I am a beginer really) When I ran the two 130 units hexminer voltage "890" PSU heating up was less and ran 4-5 hours but with low hash rate about +/-100gh/s.
so for correct power supply I should know all factors of power requirements of parts on unit eg. chip, fans etc. ok thanks again and if you can help with further infomation that would be ace!

After all the explanations i am wandering how you still are not on fire Listen to zich Chips need power - that is why two connectors are there. Zich have measured them in the past In short for eight chips measured by zich Here is the result on 12V rail: 260/1005 = 33 A 265/1030 = 37 A 265/1040 = 38,5 A 265/1050 = 39 A 270/1050 = 40,5 A You can go lower of course that is OCed So divide this by two and add 15% safety margin at least for 4 chips
