Yeah,  you are totally right,  Nightly for us anyway because I assume,  the attackers are counting on the fewest number of us to be online to manage our clients.  Infact the benefits of the DDOS may run all the way too lunchtime tomorrow!  Without hundreds of M/hash slow or unable to recover without intervention several hours after the attacks cease.

Whomever is doing it I think are getting away with a couple hundred thousand coins beyond each attack session.    There is no way they are going through this hassle to dump for 900 satoshis...   I suspect less scrupulous types are going long on EAC as well

I like the Dynamism, but yeah,  a young coin without only 2-3Ghs a few dozen pools we are weak against it for now,  However tonight I noticed a almost immediate hash-return after the DDOS lifted, I estimate 50% of the lost Hashrate returned in less than 20 minutes!   People are paying more attention tonight than last night ha!   And if we moved fast the attackers would have much smaller gain regardless so it will hopefully discourage the attacks.

Huge DDoS all pools down or inefficient

start mining solo, solo mining = no DDoS + profit (low network hashrate due to down pools)

Price swings have probably nothing to do with DDoS. Price swings are because no volume at these crappy exchanges.

Solo mining not really gonna work properly at this stage.

For all i know there are 2 pools that didnt crash so far:

- http://hackshardgaming.net/ - 2% Fee

Maybe there are more, but those i know from experience that been working steady.

looks like the attacks might still be ongoing?  I have been on vircurpool all night and only 1000 coins....so its hurting for sure.....hate to jump pools.

god i hate pools with high PPLNS target, you can mine for hours and still see no coins. I'm running away from this now, that's it.

 Can someone please help me setup solo mining? I know a little about setting it up on 1 machine as there are many guides but i dont see any info on setting up multiple workers. 5 i need to hook up to be exact.I think i could probably do allot better solo Mining but need some help setting it up.

- replace **Yourusername** and **Yourpasswprd** with exactly what you chose earlier for the earthcoin.conf file
- replace **Yourpoolurl** and **Yourpoolport** with your pool information (check start post if you don't have a pool and have singed up, you need a worker configured on most pools or it will not work)
- replace **Yourpoolusername** and **Yourpoolpassword** with your earthcoin pool login info (note this step is so that you can take advantage of the longpoll function that the pool provides while solo mining, it prevents you from working on already solved blocks while solo mining and thereby wasting a lot of time and kh/s)

You may have to change rpcconnect to 192.168.*.* if you have your rigs in a home network. I had to in my set up.

Hi, the pool I was mining to yesterday is dead, so I configured the miners for solo mining, question is: can I mine just with the localhost credentials without the pool information for longpoll?

Because the pool is dead and it says me unable to connect, but if I mine without it it looks just fine, the launching batch looks something like that:

cgminer.exe --scrypt -o 127.0.0.1:15678 -u l -p x --config cgminersoloearth.conf

The miner seems to be working and running, it says I'm connected to 127.0.0.1 without LP

Is it running fine?

I was really hoping that exchange would be up and running, it looked nice. All bets are off though.
I got some coins stuck there, and the same happened to a lot more ppl. Guess its the price to pay for testing new exchanges.

Ill put a warning against them on #Earthcoin ... until we have more news.

Same here, sad, I had one miner on vircurpool and one on coinium, I made only 2000EAC during the night with 4400kh/s.

I started up solo mining.
