I'm not too sure this was such a bad launch.
Here's a test:  read the first 70 pages of the dogecoin thread, and compare them with the comments in this one.

one of the things you might notice is people were actually having fun with dogecoin.

on the catcoin side there hasn't been any type of laughter that wasn't derisive.

will definitely be interesting to see how the coin works out.

Still nothing from cryptovalley, but waiting patiently.  He says he has it fixed, its just taking time.  Thanks for the hard work Nod Smiley

Thanks for your support, the process is long because as the script works, the payout queue grows, but the script works faster than the growth so it should be ok in some hours...
Don't worry, you will have your coins when you wake up Wink

Woow... 06 AM and I have not slept...

Please, CATCOIN community, don't let the haters destroy the block chain Roll Eyes, the official one, they're just angry because of the forks but we're the right one from the last release on github, no reason it would need a restart, don't listen to these haters.

hey nod. i understand you are tired,but if you have some extra energy and love, could you add me to list of the luck ones here that got the %0 fee? username :catwho

thanks either way. : )

as the diff is still low you can still solo mine so here is the example .conf file you add to your C:\User\<currentusername>\AppData\Roaming\Catcoin\
folder, if its hidden, go to Tools> Folder options> View
look down and click radio button show hidden files
or enter the folder thru run or explorer directly
then make a new file catcoin.conf
enter these details:
rpcuser=username
rpcpassword=password
server=1
daemon=1
testnet=0
listen=1
addnode=82.173.108.213
addnode=176.31.117.14
addnode=162.243.84.188
rpcport=7000
rpcallowip=192.168.*.*

you can enter any username or password u want its for internal use
u can also change the rpc port, itll override the settings in the exe
then when u run it just run catcoin-qt.exe -server

this will help with getting the wallet sync'd
another way to sync is to run the wallet, go to help at the top then debug then console, in the console box u type
addnode 82.173.108.213 add
addnode 176.31.117.14 add
addnode 162.243.84.188 add

these nodes may need changing so if anyone has any new ones, post them and then u can add those to these settings

I just want to point out that no one knows who is on the correct chain. If the pool of pools chain keeps going and remains longer then it will at minimum become the correct the chain. I would assume pool operators know this. Every pool operator has a stake in whether or not their pool is on the correct chain. That being said they know if they are not on the right chain all they have to do is out last the correct chain and they will become the new correct chain. This would make their worthless coins from the beginning of their chain legit. Seeing how pool of pools got ddos'ed it seems someone wanted to slow their chain. I could be way off here on the way this works, but I don't think I am. Either way it's messed up. Just realize it's in the pool ops best interest to keep people mining on their chain regardless if it is, at the time, the correct one or not.

When will we know ?
The owner of pool of pools has already magnanimously agreed to stop mining on his/her chain. The current chain used by the other pools is already longer than that chain was, and so has become the generally accepted main chain.

Hello Kitty Cheesy

Use http://www.reddit.com/r/catcoins/comments/1tlaao/urgent_catcoin_package_that_is_working_includes/

And put catcoin.conf into the catcoin folder in appdata/roaming

Pools:

http://p2pool.gotgeeks.com:9333/static/ and http://cat.cryptovalley.com - works good.
