Let's all give a big thanks to WillBit for setting such a high price on the very first WTB.

This was on page 45, literally FIFTEEN MINUTES after the first block was mined.

Thanks asshole!

[WTB] 1000 Catcoins for 1 btc
and that was still too low

The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

Yeah - I really don't think now is a good time to be paying 0.0007+ for short term speculation but they will still make for a great long term investment even if they fall in price some more before they rise.

wow catcoin is falling.

wow catcoin is falling.

According to my very rought calculations, the CAT/BTC ratio will average around 0.0008-0.0009 until the reward gets halved (assuming CAT will live that long and progresses as it should). It should be a matter of a few weeks or a few months (depending on many things).

At least the network speed seems to rise slowly but steadily today.

@chip99
But CoinWarz and multipools + autosell exchanges will do their work to cause some spikes.
Difficuty will dinamically go up and down to adapt. Only reward halving will cause persistently significant changes

I guess...

wow catcoin is falling.

I'm no expert market trader, but from my understanding there are "phases" that stock go through which follow a very common pattern, and it's common for the stock to rise, then dip, then rise a second time to a nuch higher level. So we're either still in the beginning of Stage One before an uptrend, or near the end of Stage Four before going back to Stage One.

Looking at some of the bids on coined up, there are these two sell walls;

0.00083   4141
0.00085   5050

Once those break down we should start hitting 0.0009, and maybe even the golden 0.001, which is where sellers will really start to become aggressive.

It's all just numbers though really. You can't judge these things on a daily basis. It was near 0.0009 earlier today. Now it's near 0.0007. That doesn't mean much in 24 hours.

there are around 3000 coins being sold for less than .001btc and most of the coins mined are not even listed.
i know there are people, including myself waiting. we will get the better rewards. this is not a coin that will easily be recouped and supplies will be shorter than demand those that let theirs go below .001btc were foolish. even .001btc is too low. good luck getting them back for that in the coming weeks. a hunter will wait, the prey will run.

I counted around 15,000 coins under 0.001 BTC on CoinedUp.com and then there are another 5600 for 0.001 BTC itself. Plus, there really is no reason to list at 0.001 BTC right now or even 0.0009 BTC since the market is so far below that right now it is not even very likely that a giant whale is going to come in and pay that any time soon -- there really is no need when you could just patiently buy up whatever you wanted at 0.00075 BTC right now (the going rate doesn't seem to be much above 0.0007 BTC right now and there are clearly some "buyers" trying to convince people of otherwise.

wow catcoin is falling.

This current glut of sellers are the early adoptors who mined a ton when the difficulty was extremely low. If demand stays constant or increases as time goes on, then all those dumpers will be replaced by true investors who bought at that price and are not going to want to dump at the same price.

Alternatively, if demand doesn't lead to a increase in price soon, the coin is doomed since miners will bleed away. The block rewards are insanely low for a coin that's currently priced <1000/1btc. At diff 64, the price would have to be something like 700/1BTC to just match up to doge's mining profit. (It's currently priced at half that). At the next difficulty, if prices don't increase the coin will die.

Overall though I am very optimistic about the prospects of this coin due to the large community support (I'm heavily invested in CAT myself). I think it has a lot to offer especially as a pure scrypt version of bitcoin.

So as the community as been saying, I will do my part to:

"HOLD THE LINE" :-D

You could try Local Bitcoins though you will want to be careful who you deal with since paypal payments can be reversed.
