The person who put 19 BTC at 8300 intends to skyrocket this coin later. He will be happy to have all your coins.
Otherwise he wouldn't be buying them with that much money.

and also this guy doing most of the selling on these sell lines is the same person:

0.00086691   900.00000000   0.78021900
0.00086990   790.00000000   0.68722100
0.00087100   890.00000000   0.77519000
0.00087199   900.00000000   0.78479100
0.00087200   791.99900000   0.69062313
0.00087940   867.00000000   0.76243980

You can tell by his numbers

Above him there is only 3-4 BTC of sells total all the way to 0.000110000+

Sellers are holding their ground. It's unfortunate they don't lower their price to 0.00085 as I would buy more if they did. There really is very little risk at 0.00085 since the protection at 0.00083 is not decreasing and there is triple the protection at 0.00083 as there are sell orders under 0.00090 -- so even if everyone who has listed their coins under 0.00090 were to sell at 0.00083, there would still be protection of 15000 CATS,
the entire market cap of catcoin is about $1M. 15000 cats is meaningless when the tiny market valuation leaves it vulnerable to manipulation.  sellers are holding their ground, but in some respects, sellers are left holding the bag after the initial pump and dump.  happened to doge, and happened to cat.

i don't mind either way:  if it's profitable, i mine.  if people are bleeding catcoins, i buy.

bullshit! always there is someone who think it will rise, but it not always happens.
Believe you or not if you don't move your ass and help CAT - it will die.

Guys let's admit that CATcoin is dying.
Hashrate become lower and lower.
And its not true that the reason is new year and that other currencys also fall.
CAT falling too much.

http://coinmarketcap.com/

CAT has potential because of DOGE vs CAT, but author didn't use this possibility.
Can't understand.
We can't anymore wait for someone, we can save coin without author.

Now we have 2 things to do:
Create a budget for promo donating everyone => reanimate CATcoin. Donating 1-10% of your coins we can pay to press , to developers for an app on android, to shops ecc. So new people come, hashrate go up - prices too. Much profit.

Or panic => sell => CAT probably die faster. -> Bad idea. Because you loose your chance to get rich - during dump price will lower too much that you gain quiete nothing.
SO why not try to reanimate? better donate some % now or loose everything selling at low price in panic?

I have created a thread for this..
Lets do it together.

Tomorrow if I have time I will start another giveaway. It'll be interesting. I'll have to monitor it so no point starting it now as I'm going to bed soon. Catcoin is far from dying. It's in a trough. a small dip until the recalculation. Prices have been steady, and although we're losing hashrate, it's because of profitability right now, not because of a problem with the coin. It will change once the difficulty adjusts. This thread spends most of the day on the first page of the forum. People will keep mining Catcoin as long as there are enough people interested and invested in its future.

The difficultly will take ages to adjust if all the miners keep backing out..

All this coin needs is promotion.. that is all.

there have been valid points made here and there are a few of us working our asses off to save this coin
while others go about and wait until the going is good.
we need miners.
 our hashrate is way down
look in your wallet debug window
you can see it
we are having BIG issues
we are at 471mhs for the network
you think the price is low.
 well it can get lower
you all need to find people to dig.

 we need miners
 hashrate
we need to push on to the next difficulty adjustment and we need 20x the hashing power we currently have
so really please find people...

Boat going slowly to the bottom... Nobody will mine this coin. Nobody is so stupid to mine for no profit.

There are coins with much better perspective, comparison to the few new coins:

CATCOIN vs EarthCoin, QQCoin, Dogecoin, (...)

TRANSACTIONS
cat - SLOW as hell
other coins - fast

HASHRATE
cat - LOW
other coins - usually much better

DIFF RETARGET
cat - RIDICULOUS (almost none)
other coins - fast or instant

LAUNCH
cat - FAIL
other coins - not so big fail or successfull

DEVELOPEMENT
cat - Huh
other coins - usually better

INNOVATION
cat - pure clone => 0
other coins - somewhat

Theoretically, if the coin supply becomes low due to the decreasing hashrate, shouldn't the value of the coins increase? It's not the miners creating the demand, right? So what creates demand in people buying currency? This demand will drive up the price, which will in turn make the coin more profitable, and bring back the miners.

So it seems that the easiest way to get the hashrate back is to get more people buying CatCoin. Right?

Noticing a lot of negativity over the last few pages that isn't really productive. The coin is not dying. The coin is in a phase. Phases change. No coin has linear growth. No coin. This thread now has 250 pages. Tell me it's dying again. Look at all the crapcoins in this forum, and then remind me if the coin is doing so badly why this thread is continually on the first page. This isn't a pump and dump coin like all the rest.

It's in a transitional phase. People need to stop panicking. If it was dead this topic would be dead. It's not, so it isn't.

As soon as Bitcoin starts allowing chargebacks and kowtowing to governments, this coin will rocket.

Well, at the Bitcoin conference this year they were talking about a hardfork due to the ASICs problem and the potential of someone with enough ASICs to control 51% of the network;

http://thegenesisblock.com/go-fork-yourself-life-after-a-bitcoin-hard-fork/

This would literally split Bitcoin down the middle. You'd end up with two different coins instead of one, and then it's all the play for.

I have a question about the block time vs difficulty.   (sorry I'm a relative newbie here)  Pretend (totally pretend) hashrate went down to just a few miners @ 10 m/hash continuing to mine catcoins.....though the difficulty is 176, would they still be awarded a block every 10 minutes?  Or is the 176 difficulty a kind of floor that dictates how low the network difficulty can drop in an attempt for the network to award a block every ten minutes?  if the latter is true that would indicate that there is an ideal network hashrate to keep mining profitable and the rest of the miners desiring to work for the benefit of catcoin would (as mentioned earlier) go and mine DOGE and sell for CAT.  Any thoughts on this?

Nope, it would take probably take days per block if it dropped to 10MH/s. If it gets to that point the difficulty will effectively stay at 176 indefinitely, killing the coin outright.

Each miner would get a larger reward from each block yes, but the pitiful block time would cancel that out and then some.
