BUT the hash rate is dropping pretty quick, went from 1+G/hash to 0.75 G/hash in about 4 hours so...... it could die (unlikely) or it could soar (which I think it will) so now is really a delicate time for the coin, but it will pull through

I'm sorry for not being online and now answering your PMs. My house has been robbed and I spent a lot of time AFK, the suckers destroyed the bars of the window and entered. Nobody saw anything so 0 chances to get anything back

I did read about the hard fork ideas, I personally don't like that but if the entire community agrees I will need to agree too

I think it was clear from the beginning that this coin will either die out or rise a lot very fast.
Now that the first horde of speculants bought up everything between 0.008-0.001, it will either reach it's ~0.0025 optimal value and gather some miners (and may be slowly fall back to ~0.002 for a short time because of AutoSell miners), or die.

I currently have a sell order at 0.001999 even though I predict a ~0.0028 spike (but just a small amount for a short time before the first AutoSell transactions start to take place).

most of the lost hash rate is from people who are in a pool that automatically mines the most profitable coin switched after diff change. dont worry, it WILL soar and everyone whos selling right now this cheap is going to be kicking them selves in the ass in a couple weeks lol

Miners already has hurt it before diff recalc and now can inflate market with their already recived
"free money". BTC scheme not working with space rockets. It made fore SLOW growth.

barring 51% attack, I do not see how miners could possibly hurt a cryptocurrency that is mined by design.

Hashrate is lowering because difficulty is too high and catcoin is very far from being profitable to mine. In fact at current price level, CAT is 2x less profitable that even LTC to mine.

So here are the possible futures of CAT :
1) hashrate is lowering to the point where it's gonna be profitable enough again, say at 250/300 MH/s like some other altcoins (SXC/FLO/FST/FRK ...), and it can stay at this price level for a while.
2) dev/community is marketing the coin really good and the coin gain enough value to be profitable for miners. Hashrate increases again.
3) CAT is dead, all it's 9 lives at once. Hashrate is lowering to the point where difficulty will retarget in more than 2 monthes. It loses all its value, maybe with a panic sell.

Hashrate is always a major element in any alt coins. It's not a cause nor a consequence, it's both. You could also consider it as an indicator of faith. It can inspire it but is also dependent on it.
Hence balance is very fragile, and that's why all altcoins are so volatile.

While it may not be mobile development, a friend and I are working on a multi-platform (Windows, Linux, Mac) application that allows you to monitor any currency that is in its database. Basically, we code in where that info is and the app pulls it from the source. We just got Catcoins working but we're still fine tuning it before we incorporate other currencies. We wanted to make the app look like this person's graphs, but having it stay on top of all windows, re-sizable, and can be positioned anywhere. So no matter what you're running it stays on top and you don't have to pull up your browser every 5 seconds to check things out.

We got it hosted over at SourceForge if anyone wants to take a look. Don't expect it to work well though; we're still testing.
