So. Let me sum it up.

1) This coin had a fork recently, not good.
2) This coin has a wallet that doesn't really work very well, unless you fiddle with VBS files and other clunky stuff (how user friendly...)
3) This coin is an obvious rip and plays on "DOGE" theme. If that is it's main redeeming quality then I don't think this coin will have a very long life.
4) This coin lacks any form of target, direction, organisation.
5) The coin's website is currently down. Great.
6) The Wallet is hard to find (official mirrors seem...the ABC of 'launch-ur-altcoin' scriptbook, but ok)
7) The Wallet has a virus indication TROJ_GE.702F8FAD . It is of a different type from other Wallet's false positives, which concerns me.
Cool The developer does not seem to be very fast to respond to concerns, issues and troubles.
9) This just seems to be CTRL-F & replace name in some random altcoin data, then launch as your own coin and get-rich-quick-scheme complete.

I believe you missed the Kittehcoin thread and accidentally posted in this one.  Wink
actually, kittehcoin should be point #10.  not only will catcoin have to fight dogecoin for memespace, it will also be fighting for the same users with conspecifics e.g. kittehcoin, kittycoin, etc..  I think there's a lot of feline market confusion, in that people may not even be sure what they're mining even if they do like cats.

I've seen a couple of people confuse Kitteh coin with Catcoin already.

They both do have one advantage however; First-mover advantage. This applies greatly to coin meme space. If someone released a ShibaCoin, it probably wouldn't take a bite out if DogeCoin, as DogeCoin is already a first mover. Catcoin and Kittehcoin are both early first-movers based on cat meme trends, which you could argue is a much more stronger internet meme than Doge.

So what does Catcoin have going for it most? The name, and First-mover advantage.

Well, that depends on your point of view. Some smaller pools are offering 0% fees to attract hashrate to their pool. A good opportunity to make a saving. Check the first post.

Well that and "Catcoin" sounds more clean compared to "Kittehcoin"..The last time I spelled kitty like that on purpose on the internet, I was about 13-14. Silly spelling can only work once and Doge was first and should be the last to do this, it should not be a new trend. It's like if "Bitcoin" were called "Betcoin" instead..suddenly it loses a serious name and sounds like a shady coin for some gambling site riddled with viruses.

I see Catcoin as more a coin for cat lovers and not full blown meme overload. Again, I am glad the logo is something cute and not something retarded. Cats in general are popular on the internet. Because Doge was the first crypto based off a meme, any others that follow will just be seen as a try-hard by many.

Yeah. I kind of agree. Cats in general are a much more general meme, and cats and the internet are pretty synonymous, so this coin has a fantastic name going for it. It's not based on a specific meme like Doge. Maybe it doesn't need to be. Meme-based crypto coins are kind of in uncharted territory here. I have no idea how a meme's strength affects a coin, or vice versa. All I know is; Cats are to the internet as fish is to water.
