My only concern is that the coin will become so difficult to mine that people will begin to lose interest. I wasn't around when Bitcoin launched, but if we're following the exact same difficulty curve, how did BTC miners handle the difficulty rise?

From what I read satoshi nakamoto was mining bitcoin all by himslef for weeks with like 20 CPU's when other miners jumped on his train , it was already pretty stable with difficulty increases

Now we have an awe full lot of hash power on the coin from the beginning so the difficulty has to increase much faster

Even 20 CPUs of the age are paltry compared to 500mhash/sec of hashing power though, right?

Have other Scrypt coins followed the Bitcoin difficulty curve like this?
