Hey Merred, I also got scammed yesterday for 200 CATs by the user called lads, my first p2p trade on here. I was kind of aware of the risk but decided to trust and went first.... Was stupid but people usually learn from their own mistakes, so I consider it is a price of learning. In your case looks like the guy meant your spend to his charity... I ll send you 20 CAT just as a cheerup.. ;/

The coin is picking up interest now, so you have to be careful, especially when sending in large amounts. If the person you are trading with is new, either get them to send first, trade in smaller amounts, or learn to escrow transactions. If you think your coins have a lot of money, then treat them like you would money. You wouldn't just send someone money on their word would you? I hate seeing honest people scammed.

Also see if they have a good rep or a trade rep thread.

Everyone needs to be careful with trading, that's why personally I always ask to be sent the payment first and then send over the CAT or do escrow.  I have made several transactions by being sent the coin first and have not been scammed or scammed anyone.
