One possibility would be to slash the price to BTC5, so that everyone who wants can be donators, and refund the previous holders the difference.

Does not compute: "everyone who wants can be donators" & " BTC5" That's still a lot of money for most. Those that complain about the Donator status being too pricey usually want it for next to free. On the other hand, they want it as a status symbol. Also does not compute

Yeah, well, I'm gonna go build my own blockchain. With blackjack and hookers! In fact forget the blockchain.

Unless you refunded the difference in USD (which nobody would be happy about), this would end up turning a loss for the forum.

To quote Theymos, the forum does not need any more money.
At this point, the value of what has been donated is likely to grow faster than the forum is able to spend it.

I'd like to offer a free space on millionbitcenthomepage.com to bitcointalk, as well as list it as a recipient of MBH donations in the next payout. That ok?

I'm pretty sure someone had this idea before... and then someone ELSE had the idea to copy it and use Bitcoin. It didn't take off.

Thats too much to get some unnecessary features.
Those $41,000 worth of bitcoins can be used to rent a house for a few months, buy a car, etc.
