Before you go doing bonus rewards make sure it won't mess with sites like coinmarketcap.com

If I am remembering right there was at least one coin they couldn't list due to blocks like that.

Yeah - this is a discussion I want to have with the community to see:

  • if it's a good idea to begin with
  • whether/how it'll wreck havoc on the network
  • what the optimal settings should be for the coin if jackpot rewards are introduced
  • how to mitigate potential problems
  • how to coordinate a client update with the network, especially solo miners.
  • how to best mod the kittehcoind client so that jackpot blocks don't wreak havoc on network difficulty, target blocks per day, etc.
Not sure if you should do this. Sound like it hides a lot of possibilities to fail.
My voice is for your idea of adding name-ids. Unfortunately, I can't assist for now, as I haven't even watched through Namecoin sources.
But I do have (!) some thoughts about how to integrate aliases/name-ids into current blockchain without even altering it. Will try to formalize that.

how about  a random number (based on a few silly inputs to make it more fun) based on that output, pick a bunch of address that have that balance +/- some other random number,  then randomly selecting an address to send them a reward of some sort...

Besides, as I mentioned in an earlier post, I'll have a mini exchange (MEOW, DOGE, LTC, and BTC) up and running within a day or two so people have an actual website to trade on and not have to resort to forum posts or google docs...
This would be great.
Meanwhile, I guess we should spread the word beyond this forum as much as possible. Doge had a huge success because of the meme being in favor these days. I hope with planned updates kitteh would take its rightful place in the cryptocurrency world.

Have a whole million and a bit more, however not sure I want to sell them all!
the current ''set'' price seems to be 1btc per 1million,however I think that's a bit too much at least for now while its brand new, soo I could probably do 0.15btc per 200k Meow coins or around that.

let me know what u think.

Nope.

Zero.

You definitely won't find a faucet by reading the thread.
